They need to sit down with a conditioning coach and figure out if they can make 155, because a Cinco de Mayo PPV for him would mean a high 7 digits or maybe even an 8 digit payday.

No but I don't think he takes it right away since that option will most likely be available in the future (which Canelo already admitted to).

Cotto have a chance to upset Canelo, I don't like the way Canelo looks

It is worth celebrating if he gets all the belts ... if it was so easy, everyone would do it.
I wouldn't go that extreme but it's GGG next best option, if his team decide they'd won't go down then it's on them. The way boxing is Every b side fighter gets flexed on ,GGG would be no different.

Everyday Belts are becoming more irrelevant , If / when he gets all the straps Go ahead and celebrate but if he does it off the scalps of Lemiux, Lee and 2 interns I won't join in because that's some BS and not worthy of the celebration.

I think GGG will stand firm on this. Canelo would have to fight him at 160 if the WBC stands by their own rules. If Canelo won't fight him at 160 he would forfeit the title and GGG would be the full WBC champion and that is very important to GGG. GGG would have dropped to 154 for Mayweather because of the importance and huge money of the fight. He would have had no bargaining power to make Mayweather fight him any higher than 154. If the WBC holds up their own rules then Canelo must fight him at 160 or GGG becomes the full WBC middleweight champion.

What happens when Golovkin says Ok to 155 and Canelo is like nah, not right now? I'm sure Golden Boy/Canelo will do everything in their power to avoid this fight, provided he beats Cotto of course.

After just 97k buys, he's got no choice tbh.

                  97k isn't the number though.

I think they will fight at 158 eventually.

Canelo willl have problems making 155, theres a reason he wanted to have the Cotto fight at least at 156 and not 155 like Cotto.

The question that is more interesting to me, will Canelo actually vacate the belt when GGG insists on 160?

Wouldnt that be hilarious if Canelo gives up the belt? What would his fans say, how would the media react? There would be a huge outburst and Canelo would lose alot of what he stands for.

It would not end well for him.

The way I see it. The scenario for maximum laughs would be:
Canelo gets his weight drained chin smashed by a Cotto left hook
                      Cotto actually defends against GGG
Ward has to fight another catchweight tune up on Cotto vs GGG PPV undercard lol
