To beat Cotto you have to pick him apart from the outside and frustrate him with the jab, Trout demonstrating this nicely. Cotto is trained to overcome pressure fighters now because of what Margarita did so I don't think that will work today. Canelo's footwork is god awful as he just sits their in the pocket and moves his head side to side with body movement, not good. Canelo has over a 3 inch reach advantage and needs to play that card in order to win. However, thats not Canelos game and he'll be gladly exchanging punches with Cotto looking for the KO. Cotto rolling to the side and landing left hooks to the body while Canelo just stands their like he always does will be key. I think the only way Canelo can win is if he finishes Cotto in the mid rounds, don't think he can outbox him for 12.

There is a case to be made for both fighter getting the W, honestly. I don't see how people think this is an easy fight to call at all. I'm leaning 60-40 Canelo's way, however.

Cotto never had the stamina to be able to box and move for a whole fight and I think he will get beat to the punch more times than not during exchanges because of Canelo's accuracy, hand speed, and combination punching.

Maybe so but the facts that those fights were close proves he could hang with them

Never said that he couldn't. But he didn't run away with it either and he simply could not adjust or have the ability to do so.

Canelo is a good fighter in my book but is not this top skilled boxer puncher some make him to be

Lara and Trout are better boxers than Cotto and Canelo was able to land fine on Lara when he wasn't in marathon mode. Let's not act like Cotto is a Floyd type boxer.

Cotto may try to start boxing but he can be pulled into a fight, and I eventually see that happening. Canelo needs to work the body early to slow Cotto down.

Cotto has not dine very well against naturaly stronger guys that can punch, and I think his recent KO's are a bit misleading considering the opponents and the catchweight drained Geale, Delvin Freakin Rodriguez and one legged Martinez.

The one thing Canelo has is the ability to take a punch and keep coming, we've seen Cotto get hurt and dropped on numerous occasions. I'm not hatin on Cotto he's my 2nd favorite fighter, and it should be a good fight, but these are some of the things I can see Canelo doing.

Once again I believe Cotto wil try and box, but not be be able to sustain that for a full fight, and will eventually get ****** into a WAR, and that's where Canelo would have the advantage. Fight could go either way though.
