Exactly!!! Gotta speak English. I am thinking to quit my job and get paid to teach Japanese fighters English & Spanish. Or be their translator in Vegas. Or the states. Unfortunately there isn't enough need for this, because many Japanese fighters don't get it. Not speaking English will hurt you. If PAC only spoke Tagalog, he would never be a superstar.

Yea, he will. I dont believe he will eclipse Mayweather/Pac/Hoya, either in success or stardom..... but he will be the biggest star of the current crop.

Besides being a dominant boxer, I think you have to be an interesting character outside the ring. FMJ, Pac, Ali, Tyson, etc. are all interesting people. Canelo seems plain. GGG has personality though. Guys who aren't even dominant boxers become famous for their antics, like Hamed, Magic Man, Hector Camacho, etc.

And he isn't ready for GGG either?

Canelo isn't doing his people's proud with all this whining.

This ^^^ Canelo simply isn't talented enough to eclipse Mayweather or Pacquiao. Oscar is banking on Canelo being good looking and Mexican as the reason why Canelo will become big. In order to be a huge star you have to be talented first and foremost.

I doubt he'll eclipse Mayweather in popularity, he doesn't speak English and honestly, his personality is a bit boring.

who can he beat to make this happen? Both Pac and Floyd beat delahoya. As far as stardom Cotto (especially at this age) nor Golovkin are close to de la hoya. Too many natural 168 fighters would beat him, unless my eyes deceive me; so I don't see it happening.

You might be right, but I doubt it. More Mexicans than Puerto Ricans for one, but Verdejo has problems. The odds are stacking against him. Bad hands and he's still in the development stage. What happens when he fights a guy who won't go away and punches back?
