If he don't learn the english language he will not cross over to superstardom and that's a 100 percent.....you can't selll yourself to the world if you don't speak the worlds universal language.....yes he is big in Mexico for sure but to be a an Ali ,leonard, tyson, mayweather, pacquaio you need cross over appeal.....how can he crossover to the mainstream if he can't sell himself.....secondly he would need to change trainers to take him up a level although nice guys they can't really teach anything more he don't know already....he needs a vast improvement on his foot speed and from what I see in his traning he is still doing the same routine...that was one of the main reasons why floyd completely schooled him...he lacks agilty and movement to become a real all time great

Like to see Canelo try and get out in fighting more than two times a year, he has potential to surpass the levels of those mentioned but its going to be extremely hard If he is pushing into MW domains.

Can BUT won't... once he starts fighting at Middleweight, which he should already be doing, the dream will vanish. GGG, Quillen, even Lee would beat him right now. In 5 years he'll balloon up to 168...

We've seen tons of boxers with the ability to do great things get derailed by external factors.
Well said! I like Saul but his trainer does not push him at all. And I still think it's a TERRIBLE idea to have your training gym in your own home! You need to be in the NASTIEST gyms. Watching the youngster clawing and biting their way up to the top. The hungry ones to make you remember every day what it took to get where you're at now.

Not like the Chavez Jr. school of training. Who you had to BEG to trainer and then he finally says ok! Let's move these couches around and make ring???

November 21st will stamp Roc Nation Sports's place in boxing. Andre Ward will start his journey toward the Sergey Kovalev fight by stomping out Alexander Brand and Miguel Cotto will end the reign of Golden Boy Promotions by knocking out its last marketable fighter.

Golden Boy has seen Matthysse and Lemieux get brutally battered and stopped this month and the sacrifice of Canelo Alvarez next month will finally fold Golden Boy Promotions. I can't wait!
