... Did anybody in the division wanted to fight Rigo lately? I don't recall...
... Did WBO ordered him a fight someone and he didn't?

His management is either inept or rigo is delusional, possibly both, that's why he's not getting fights. Seems to be a trend with former Cuban amateurs. There is tons of fighters in every division that will fight for a cheque and don't care if they lose. Many of them are in the top 20 of divisions. You telling me they couldn't get one of those guys to fight rigo? It's clear what the problem is here and it's not everyone else.

WBO ranked guys want the belt but they don't want to fight Rigo. Wouldn't be surprised if everyone decided to wait out Rigo and then fight for the belt.

He hasn't fought in nearly a year, this should happen every time to every fighter who doesn't have a fight scheduled in that time frame. If only there was consistency and that's the problem with the WBO here.

Granted this is a alphabet group so they make up rules as they go along so its not like those things matter. What it ultimately breaks down to is Rigo wasn't generating enough revenue for them. 3% of nothing most of the year & 3% of whatever a 122lber gets every 10mos isn't a good business model.
This all comes down to Caribe; their poor attitude, their apparent lack of business acumen and their lack of funds.

So WBO tells Rigo to fight his no 1 mandatory. Lets just say No 1 agrees. Who is putting up the purse - not Caribe that's for sure. So the mandatory's promoter has to give the majority of the split to Rigo and his team. Then you would hope that the champ's promoters would take the initiative in promoting the fight.

But Caribe don't seem capable of doing that. So it would leave it down to the challengers promoter to do all the legwork of the promotion for a minor split of the proceeds. No other promoter is going to want to do that.
The WBO could go down it's top 15 list and likely all the other promoters will step away.

Purse bids? They would be derogatory and neither Rigo or his opponent would be up to fight for peanuts.

The WBO decided that they didn't want to supervise all that BS so they left Rigo to get on and hopefully make some unification fights. Caribe couldn't do that so finally the WBO said enough is enough.

In an ideal world all promoters would have to pass a test and one of the requirements would be sufficient capital which would immediately rule out Caribe.

If Rigo wanted to get out of his contract he could - so it is as much his fault as Caribe's issue. Caribe be doing voodoo spells on Rigo though.

Damn. Idk too much about Caribe, but you're making him sound like he was the drive thru guy at the local taco bell previous to luring Rigo into a contract.

If this is all correct I still say let it go to purse bids. If Rigo decides to not to wanna fight for peanuts fair enough lets keep the title moving. There seems to be more justice in that move than what went down (again I know I'm talking about abc groups & justice isn't really in play).

I'm just a big Rigo fan I guess & hate seeing this go down. I feel like the only small chance he has to fight any name guys in his division is these belts he's won. If he loses these belts there is a solid chance he just treads along til he's too old to improve his legacy.

Well they are following their rankings. It's not like they took the 8th guy on the list or something. I believe the 2 guys for the title are the 1st and 2nd ranked fighters.
