Boxrec has Brand the ranked 21st at 168. Ward is dragging him up to 175 to fight. An other cherry pick by the master cherry picker, Ward. Many years ago Ward used to fight quality opposition. Anyone having him as the best pfp guy in the world must be basing it on what he did over three years ago. It's been over three years since Ward fought anybody worth a damn. Ward has the nerve to criticize GGG's opponents when GGG is fighting much better fighters than Ward is. GGG just KOed a champion. Is Ward fighting a champion?????? No, he is fighting the 21st ranked guy in the weight class below the weight class he is in. Ward will be fighting Kovalev when pigs fly.

Boone also dropped Kovalev and gave him his toughest fight in his career. oh yeah he also TKO'd stevenson. safe to say that guy can crack and is arguably the best "journeyman" ever.

You should ask a guy that has been in the ring with both Ward and GGG. Actually the guy that dropped Ward, almost knocked him out. Darnell Boone, ask him who he thinks has better skills and would win the fight, you'll be surprised.

Not to be rude, but I believe you were thinking of Kovalev and not GGG (as the guy that fought both Ward and...,). Not remembering a GGG vs Boone fight, I checked and saw that GGG wasn't an opponent whom Boone had faced

Two problems with that statement. First, he was chasing both Ward and Froch when no title holders or other decent names would take a fight with him. That was in first half of 2015. (Here's the link in case you're curious)
Ward said he wants a couple of tuneups, so they focused on Froch (who was more popular anyway)
Second, fights with both Froch and Ward have nothing to do with belts. Golovkin is a MW and said he wants to unify all MW belts - he said this back in 2012. As a matter of fact, a fight with Ward at 164 would DEFINITELY not have the belt on the line. He wanted to unify MW belts.

You make it sound like he's still chasing Froch or Chavez. He has said he's not interested in Chavez Jr back in March. Ward stopped being appealing after he got decent fights at his weight class.

That was more than 3 years ago. (again, here's a link in case you don't believe me) Things change. For example, in 2009, Ward said he will be the heavyweight champ by the age of 32. Instead, at the age of 31 he was chasing a guy in a division lower than him.

Have u ever been in a fight ? U can't conclude someone wants to really fight u if the only time they say they do is when your healing from an injury , and saddled by contractual issues . And then when that previously injured person has cleared up all issues , then u got 9 or 10 different excuses.

Why are the pretend Ward stans still posting about GGG? The same guys that called G opponents cans are defending this lol? I still don't believe Ward will ever fight Kovalev. He will find a way out of it. Kovalev ends him. Ward can't box Krusher on the outside, and doesn't have the power to keep him off him. Krusher will brutally end the fight.

That's pretty much how I see it as well. Nobody that Ward has ever fought was at the level which Kovalev has achieved; if Ward does fight Kovalev, Kovalev will beat him more thoroughly than he did Hopkins. As to Ward's tune up with Brand, I will cut Ward some slack as the Ward I saw boxing Paul Smith looked soft and showed considerable ring rust. I imagine that both Ward and Virgil Hunter knew immediately following the Smith bout that Ward was in need of at least one other tune-up opponent before he faced any real competition.

Ward has done nothing to suggest that he will fight a real LHW next time out.

If he's going to face Krusher, he'd damned well better fight a bonafide LHW with skills first, or 2. Otherwise, he may be in for a rude awakening, or should I say, a rude KOing.
