Yes, why should reality exert any influence over his behaviour. Sports fans should find a guy trying to win rounds by 3 punches to 2 exhilarating. That's what really needs to happen.

Gennady Golovkin is one of the HBO franchise fighters and come May 16th against Willie Monroe, big numbers are expected. The landscape of boxing has shifted somewhat this year because of the Al Haymon investment in putting boxing across multiple platforms on network television. Golovkin regularly is a ratings draw on the HBO platforms and has taking the boxing world by storm one knockout at a time. But one would wonder how his numbers would transcend on a platform that has a much bigger reach outside of the HBO subscribers. Managing Director of K2, Tom Loeffler spoke on the the shift of boxing from a subscription based network to terrestrial television.

Or If lara really wants the fight then why doesn't he just go to one of GGG's press conference's like he did canelo?
Most would agree that GGG is better than Angulo, but GGG isn't exactly a speedster either. Also, GGG doesn't have the same balls to the wall style that Angulo does. Angulo's ability to take a beating and come forward is what kept him in the fight. It's not in most fighters to do what Angulo did the night he fought Lara. Canelo is a much better fighter than Angulo, yet he didn't come close to landing the same type of shots that Angulo subsequently knocked Lara down with.

oh in that case if the people and media really clamor for it (also the winner of Jacobs-quillin) then it wont happen. Unless a purse bid which pbc might win. But either way I don't care. No point in seeing a fight I know the outcome of. But the pleasure of seeing lara on the canvas makes me tingly inside

has a point with ali. young cassious clay was a mover, dancer and spoiler. he used to get boo's just like floyd. of course now that he can barely talk it's all love and roses. what lara needs to do is get some gold teeth, start throwing money in strip clubs and just act a damn fool.. i guarantee you he'll be popular overnight. that's what he must do. look at andre ward, PPV talent but not PPV worthy, he shuts guys out same as mayweather, but floyd brings the gimmicks and is universally hated. but being hated pays off. it sucks that it must be that way, but that's the truth. people say they hate broner all they want, if broner wasn't the way he was, he wouldn't be making $1MILLION to fight guys like Khabib Allakhverdiev.. coming off a one sided loss at that. broner is getting paid, and its all because of his antics.

with no canelo or cotto for golovkin, lara is the next best available opponent, i pick him to outbox golovkin. that would be the biggest win for ggg hands down.

eh canelo is average is hell. I don't see all the hype. Difference is Angulo is better at cutting off the ring whereas canelo just followed lara around.

There's a reason why he was just following him around. Cutting off the ring puts a fighter in harms way (especially against a skilled and sharp counter puncher like Lara).

Is this the Bronx school of revisionism or are you just a contrarian?

He shouldn't have to but he cost himself the fight vs Canelo. Even as a fan of the guy I could see why ppl complain but it's a lil over blown. He doesn't have to go to war, he just needs to step on the gas a lil more offensively.
