Boxing has already allowed too many fights to "marinate" for my taste.

No. I think the WBC should take that belt away from Cotto-Canelo right now and make them fight for a giant whale p*ssy.

IDGAF how much money any of them lose. GGG is WBC mandatory.
The winner will have to fight the mandatory or dump the title and duck GGG.

Yeah but itll do absolutely do nothing for GGG except change his name from interim champ to regular champ for a belt basically everyone thinks he owns regardless.

IMO Canelo is ready he has been fighting world class opp for a few years. Cotto, Lara, Mayweather, Trout who else does he need to be 'ready'? Canelo is a too big for 154lbs its quite obvious so if he wins he should fight GGG he has the ability/potential to win.

Personally i think the fight has the potential of being a million buy PPV but not just yet, and I dont think itll be there unless the 2 maybe fight on the same card and use "the belt" situation create an ora of bad blood between the 2. I think Mexican Independence Day 2016 would be a great venue giving Canelo a fight or 2 at a full 160 so theres no excuses and gives GGG a chance at the Lee vs Saunders winner. SO why the outrage on letting the fight come into play?
I don't think they can fight on the same card unless they did a west coast east coast double header on HBO... They're both too big to play second fiddle... I'd love to see Canelo vs Lemueix at 160 and GGG vs Lee for his title then the two meet later next year, probably the September Mexican holiday on PPV.

A double header on HBO Championship boxing would be cool and the opponents you named would be good too!

If Canelo wins (or if Cotto wins and wants to stay at 160) there's no real point in not fighting GGG next, unless there's a rematch or Floyd wants to fight you again.

GGG should either get a chance to fight for the WBC 160 pound title at 160 in his next fight or have the title stripped from the holder and awarded to him. He should have had a chance to fight for this title years ago but Martinez and then Cotto ducked him. He has waited too long for what should have been his long ago. Once GGG is the WBC middleweight champ Canelo can let a fight with GGG marinate as long as he wants.

Doesn't sound like OP wants to see a fight, he's talking like he's a promoter not a fan.

The WBC has made it clear that the winner of Canelo vs. Cotto must fight GGG at 160 pounds in defense of that title in their next fight or lose the title. They cannot fight anyone else including Mayweather. If they do they lose the title and it goes to GGG. This is a fair ruling. I hope the WBC will keep their word on this.
