These debates are always ******. We'll never know anyway and it's different times.
Also you have to remember a lot of retired pro's like Lennox grew up watching Hagler etc.. so they will have a sense of nostalgia about them, they are heroes to them. They are never going to say a modern fighter could have been their idols.
Just like in 20 years time, young guys now coming through the ranks looking up to Floyd or GGG or whoever will be saying fighters from 2035 could never have lived with their idols. That's just how it goes.
I'm not saying he could or couldn't beat Hagler. We would just never know and it's a fruitless debate. I'd rather debate about fights that could be proven.

It's too Early to Talk GGG versus Hagler
but the simple mentioning of the two bodes well for the respect GGG is getting.
GGG has much to prove.

We're truly not gonna know how good Golovkin is until his first knockdown - who KDs him, if/how he gets up, and what happens afterward.
All without ever hitting the canvas.
Then can he never really be great unless someone takes him down.
He eat Lemieux best shots a brushed them off. Didn't even stop the attack.
