    do they ever work out?

think of how high profile catchweight fights like floyd vs marquez, floyd vs canelo. The lopsided weight agreements largely eclipsed the fights themselves. It's just something that rarely rarely turns out enjoyable.

Just last week Abel made it clear that if team Canelo want to work something out for a catch weight in a non title fight then that's possible but that GGG should not have to come down to 155 for a fight with the title on the line.

At this point I really don't care. Boxing is turning into a charade.

Bad comparison. You even contradict yourself by saying a "a high profile" catchweight bout when , as you know, or maybe you don't, but the context everyone is referring to is a Super council title, not a retirement comeback non title bout. You must be referring to Pacquiaos catchweight titles!

His choices will be fight at 160 or pull a Rid**** Bowe.

It will be a shame if he were to win and dump the belt instead of facing GGG, Canelo is not a small guy and has had his last 3 fights above the jr. middleweight limit and now this one against Cotto is as well, hes obviously not a jr. middleweight anymore. Hes been camping out in between divisions for a year and a half now but still not ready? That's bull****.
I don't disagree with you because I feel the same way, but the fact remains, Canelo will fight at whatever weight he wants. He is the A-side and if GGG refuses then he will look like he avoided canelo. Canelo can be stripped of the title and GGG can be elevated to full champion, but GGG will be just a paper champion without any elite wins,.

Someone should shut this guy up. He is seriously making a mockery of GGG

I think a reasonable new rule would be to ban catchweights in title defense fights. So if some clown wants to get his name in the record books in a weight class outside his own, I dont like it, but so be it. But if that same clown decides to DEFEND that title, then no more catchweight bull****..........

It depends. Floyd vs. Canelo broke all kinds of PPV/Gate records. I would consider that a success for Canelo, even though he lost. Now Canelo is about to get another "mega-fight." GGG is still looking for his first one. I think it would be worth it for GGG to fight @ 155!

If GGG wants a title fight @ 155, it would be worth it for GGG to accept it. I'm not saying it's fair, but the money and exposure is worth the 5lbs.
