Had Golovkin fought Ward on PPV do you think it would have generated more buys?

Ward vs Golovkin is the fight to demand. It's not too late for Ward to do something about it. Make it happen in 2016. Don't care what month.
i agree for some weird reason no one wants it i dont know if its cause ggg and ward fans for that matter are scared their fighter will lose but this is the fight in boxing right now not ggg fighting 154 pounders im sorry but its the best fight for both and ggg could easily fight at 168

Just on that fact alone, it would have more than doubled the amount of PPV buys that the Golovkin vs Lemieux bout garnered.
Yea I didn't dispute that it does better, I think most would suggest it does better as I agreed said myself. I only disputed "the whole world would be watching" which you also said. I'd hardly call 200k+ or 300k+ (depending on which number we are going with for GGG's PPV x 2) the whole world.

Yes it would of Ward is a much more credible fighter then LeMULE he's a former P4P champion and winner of the super 6 tournament. PPVs wouldn't be a jump splash but I'd say at 260+k is passive it's still a better chioce overall had it been done. So much talk on how HBO and Shotime fighters can get along a do fights together yada yada yet you have 2 HBO guys same network, there promotional companies don't have feud together yet they can't materialize the fight because one claims the other one isn't a draw but did sh.itty numbers himself I say it's probably Golovkin under HBOs witness protection program.

I'm just being realistic. Ward vs Kovalev seems more impossible to do than Ward vs Golovkin. Don't care what the reports about Duva negotiating the fight with Roc. I think it's smoke and mirrors. Duva knows it. Their sight is really on Stevenson, but they have to sound like they have other options. That's good for them.

Ward needs to forget about Kovalev and make up his mind about Golovkin. That might be good for him, too.

but anyone who wants to pretend this fight would not be gigantic in terms of none mayweather pacquiao bouts is fooling themselves and flat out dont want to see it plain and simple. this fight would be huge in the boxing community and would be talked about in places like espn that would get the casuals involved. GGG fighting guys with no chance is not gonna sell on ppv period ward fighting nobodies is also not doing good business but if u put both together its great business i just dont get why the whole boxing world is not begging for this

It would be able to compete with Cotto/Canelo. GGG's haters would get behind Andre Ward because there's a good chance Ward could win. And no matter what anybody says it's haters that drive the PPV numbers.

I agree. The media is the key in making this fight any semblance of happening. Problem is Ward's inaccessibility. It's hard to reach him for any comment. Don't know why he's hiding.

Yes because Ward brings in more buys from the American side.

Was the Lemieux fight on a separate PPV provider in Canada?

I would hope Golovkin/Ward could get atleast 300-400k, but I have doubts. Ward needs to actually start fighting and not against complete scrubs who aren't even ranked contenders. SOG's been with RN since March, he should've had his 3 tuneups done already. Plain and simple, Ward doesn't want to fight anymore.

I couldn't disagree more. From most of the stuff I've seen about Ward's HBO contract it requires him to fight Kovalev in the 3rd & final fight of the deal.

Ward vs Golovkin is the fight to demand. It's not too late for Ward to do something about it. Make it happen in 2016. Don't care what month.
Lets be real. In light of GGG's lackluster PPV debut which underperformed the promoters own expectation of it being a W & Ward not having done anything notable in 3 years this fight is in demand like an itchy *******.

Not to mention there are still EXTREMELY attractive options at 160. I'd say much more attractive options than Ward vs Cotto & Canelo. If K2 is smart they will bend as needed to make both of those fights in 2016.

And Kovalev is holding his **** at 175. Ward is holding his **** at 168. With GGG vs Canelo vs Cotto going on at 155lbs up to 160lbs HBO has 160 locked up with interesting fights & nothing happening for Kov & Ward if they don't get aimed at each other. Makes much more sense to keep GGG at 160 right now from HBO's & K2's point of view & maybe risk a Ward fight ever happening or perhaps being a 168 fight in late 2016 or 2017 when/if GGG gets to 168 & assuming Ward goes up to 175, but can still make 168.
