Oscar doesn't want his last prize fighter to be knocked out by GGG. It was only a week ago he said on record he wanted to bring the fans the best fights. Oscar, your full of ****!

Sanchez believes Golovkin has a much better chance of landing a fight with Canelo. He doesn't have the same confidence when it comes to Golovkin's ability to get Cotto in the ring.
Canelo is middleweight bound in the near future - with or without a win over Cotto. The Mexican superstar has not made the junior middleweight limit since his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in September of 2013. His last three fights were held at a catch-weight of 155-pounds. The fight with Cotto will also take place at 155.
Sanchez expects Canelo to become a full blown middleweight by mid-2016.
"Oh absolutely [I think we have a better chance of getting Canelo]. I think Canelo being young, he's going to grow into 160 and by the time he gets through with Cotto, and he's going to beat Cotto, and then fights one more fight - then maybe by the middle of next year he will be a grown man, he'll be a lot bigger and he'll have a very difficult time making 154," Sanchez told BoxingScene.com.

Canelo was 167.8 at the 30 day weigh in and GGG was 165 for his 30 day weigh in. This makes Canelo and GGG arguably the same size. Although Canelo is younger and therefore should have an easier time cutting weight. He is already 13 pounds over the contract weight and he’s been in training camp for like 10 weeks already. I could see Golovkin agreeing to 157 or 158 and I doubt Canelo would tank the fight over a hardline 155 position.
The Leimux fight proved that GGG isn't quite the PPV star just yet, if he wants a big money fight then he has to accept Canelo or Cotto's demands. Whether it be a catchweight, referee, venue, ringsize, etc. It's either that or he can continue facing tomato cans, another alternative would be an Andre Ward fight.

Oscar is wise. He is trying to save his only cash cow and box office draw from a beat down from Lil G, which could very possibly ruin and potentially shorten his young lad's career just like Fernando Vargas'; Whose career was permanently ruined by Felix Trinidad. So I can't really blame him for that because he is only looking out for the best interest of his company and the future of his fighter.

I dont know why this is so hard for people to understand. Historically, the purpose of catchweights was to facilitate 2 guys from different divisions meeting in a big fight. Thats exactly what GGG-Ward would have been.
What these other divas are doing is demanding catchweights in a mandatory defense to someone ALREADY IN THE SAME DIVISION.
Its not even close to the same thing..........
"the... purpose of catchweights was to facilitate 2 guys from different divisions"..... because of the difference in size.
Cotto weighs 153, he is obviously a JMW who is punching above his weight.
If you've ever accepted a cw, you will have to accept one for Cotto/GGG.
Regarding Canelo.....
I have no problem at all with what Canelo said, for two reasons.....
1) He has been chasing a Cotto fight for years
That is a huge fight, and huge payday, and it is great timing for Canelo.
2) Canelo did exactly what Ward told Golovkin to do.....
Man up..... tell the truth..... and dont lie to the fans.
Everybody is outraged because Cotto kept the belt and yet has no intention of fighting middleweights at 160..... and now they are ragging on Canelo for doing just that.
You guys cant have it both ways !
Check out this video.....
Ward tells Loeffler to his face " stop lying to the fans "..... if you guys wanna say hey hes a little bigger than us, we are happy here at 160, when we move up to 68 we would love to fight Andre..... hey, thats fine, I respect that.....
And, that is exactly what Canelo just did.
He finally landed the Cotto fight, in the meantime Cotto has picked up the MW title but is still fighting around his weight..... then Canelo will stay at 54.
I dont see the problem.
You guys are as bad as the WBC and HBO, paving the way for Golovkin, handing him everything on a silver platter. Cotto and Canelo dont give a fcuk about him, they have a huge fight coming up.

Which is about what Canelo said.
And yet..... Team Golovkin have demanded via the WBC that Canelo must defend IMMEDIATELY, they have stated that he must fight Gennady next at 160.
They just kissed that fight goodbye. Way to go team.
