That all sounds good, but really thats what you guys are going to go with? The GGG/Mexican Style marketing ploy is wearing thin. How did it workout for you guys in PPV buys Saturday? See thats the thing GGG'S team and maybe even GGG himself, think the Mexican fans are dumb or something. The fact is that Mexican people who follow boxing are passionate about this sport and are not easily fooled. Canelo is fighting Cotto for money and Glory the title is just an added incentive and like Pac did Canelo will be handing the belt over if he wins. I'm a Cotto fan and I am rooting for Cotto, but I'm not sitting here thinking Canelo is fighting at 155lbs because he's avoiding the guy/guys in the upper weights. He's fighting at 155 because he can, and he's not burden with sanctioning fees but still sells PPV'S.

    • This is what happens when the sanctioning bodies allow title fights at catch weights.

If Alvarez wins the middleweight title from Cotto, he should be forced to defend at 160lbs. Anything else, and CANELO IS DUCKING GGG. Why? He's previously complained about it being difficult to make 154lbs, but he knows without weight draining GGG he is going to get KTFO. And I am not a GGG fan boy.

Here is the article where Canelo states 156 while Cotto asked for 155.

Canelo has never had ANY interest in GGG. I will bet $12.36 that Cotto fights GGG before Canelo ever would.

Shyt, Canelo wanted NOTHING to do with a "cripple" Sergio Martinez.

OK, we agree on that then.....

But when it comes to Cotto its like this.....

          * catchweights are accepted in this day-and-age
          * Cotto weighs 153, he is obviously a JMW who is punching above his weight.

So if you EVER accepted a cw, you will have to accept that one quietly.

I want Golovkin to man up and reach for that HUGE fight.

Prove to us you are elite.

Like Mayweather did, like Pacquiao did, like Ward did, and like Cotto did.

Golovkin is as good as those guys, right ?

No way should a reasonable catchweight kill that fight, Golovkin should want to fight Canelo AND Cotto..... not just pick up a vacant worthless belt.

A belt is worth NOTHING, unless it has a name on it.

The TRUE comparison would be if GGG won a title from someone else at 168, and then demanded a Ward unification at 161.

When that happens, let me know. Until then, I pretty much have to stop replying to you, because I feel like I lose 10 IQ points just talking to you. My 4 year old nephew has better comprehension than you do....
            No, I'm not buddy.....

Those two situations are identical in principle.

The point is, Canelo wants to fight Cotto, he has no interest in middleweight.

That fight has been on the table for years.

Just like how Golovkin wanted Chavez, but had no interest in SMW (Ward).

If Canelo beats Cotto, Golovkin can have his ear-ring, necklace, belt, w/e.

And when Canelo moves up to 160 that fight becomes an option.

Canelo not wanting to fight Golovkin because he is the supremo in a higher division, is EXACTLY the same principle as Golovkin not wanting to fight Ward.

            Come on man be real.

Did you even read the article? Per Canelo's promoter "Canelo is fighting Cotto cause he wants than world title belt"

You Pacquiao fans who accepted that catchweight for Cotto, but are flaming Cotto for wanting the exact same thing from the unproven Golovkin..... are the worst fanboy pos imaginable.

Just check out Loeffler's recent form

If the fighter had not commented himself, you may have a point.

I was responding to the post below, but to answer your question. Like I said above he wants the title just like Pac wanted the 154lb title, to win it and then once that goal is accomplished move back down with no intentions of defending it. I put a lot of work into that post DID YOU EVEN READ IT! Lol
