Never expected this bull**** from Canelo. From pretty-in-pink diva Cotto yes, but not Canelo. Lost all respect I ever had for Canelo. Golovkin really must be the most avoided fighter in the history of the sport. Poser so-called world class fighters to the left and right avoid this guy while going around calling themselves champions. Screw it. Give Lemieux another shot. He's overmatched as hell, but he's still apparently the only MW out there who wants to fight this guy. What a ****ing joke these guys are!!

I know m8 it's shocking.......just go's to show how much they respect boxing and being a champion at that weight.....golovkin has never boxed below 159 and 155 will probably take to much out of him......canelo showed his true here he knows he can't beat golovkin...and is trying to gain a cheating advantage by making it 155......if I was golovkin I would insist on 160 let the WBC do there job and strip canelo and then he would be forced to go down to jnr middleweight and fight for the the 154 title or compete in the middleweights.....canelo would lose face and lot of fans if he got stripped and went down to 154 especially if he is killing himself to make the weight......let the WBC do there job now

Oscar is wise. He is trying to save his only cash cow and box office draw from a beat down from Lil G, which could very possibly ruin and potentially shorten his young lad's career just like Fernando Vargas'; Whose career was permanently ruined by Felix Trinidad. So I can't really blame him for that because he is only looking out for the best interest of his company and the future of his fighter.

Maybe so but that's not a choice he can make if they claim to a belt......when you have a belt at that weight you have an obligation to meet who ever ranked the highest in that organisation.....that's the way boxing has lays been.......Leonard vs hearns 1 both had different management ...both had different belts and 1 fighter could have had a beat down but did it stop it being made ...no it didn't.....morales - Barrera ...Garcia -mattysee ....if oscars wants to protect his investment he can do that but he can't do that if canelo has that green WBC 160 belt around his waist ......he must defend it and at 160 or he gets stripped...it's not a good look on canelo

And yet..... Team Golovkin have demanded via the WBC that Canelo must defend IMMEDIATELY, they have stated that he must fight Gennady next at 160.

They just kissed that fight goodbye. Way to go team.

Team GGG is just talking ****. Less than 200.000 PPVs = 155lb. fight, take it or leave it! If Canelo beats Cotto convincingly, Floyd would have a hard time turning down a MW Championship fight with Canelo on Cinco de Mayo! $100 PPV fight on HBO PPV!

Cotto weighs 153, he is obviously a JMW who is punching above his weight.

If you've ever accepted a cw, you will have to accept one for Cotto/GGG.

Regarding Canelo.....

I have no problem at all with what Canelo said, for two reasons.....

1) He has been chasing a Cotto fight for years

That is a huge fight, and huge payday, and it is great timing for Canelo.

2) Canelo did exactly what Ward told Golovkin to do.....

Man up..... tell the truth..... and dont lie to the fans.

Everybody is outraged because Cotto kept the belt and yet has no intention of fighting middleweights at 160..... and now they are ragging on Canelo for doing just that.

You guys cant have it both ways !

And, that is exactly what Canelo just did.

He finally landed the Cotto fight, in the meantime Cotto has picked up the MW title but is still fighting around his weight..... then Canelo will stay at 54.

Mexicans don't like chickens unless it's in an enchilada .....I don't think Mexicans would like one of there own winning a belt and then getting it stripped for failure to fight his mandatory and still try and remain at 155.....Mexicans are warriors and have the warrior code ....winning the middleweight belts is more valuable than beating canelo in my eyes...get the belts then they all must come through you.......canelo has a ticking clock in his body.....next year he will struggle even more to make weight and golovkin wil still waiting lol .......war golovkin

I've been saying this for 2 years now. Golivkin is an excellent fighter, clearly the best at 160 hands down. The only guys at 160 that would be good scalps on GGG resume would be Cotto/Canelo winner and Jacobs/Quillin winner. But Jacobs/Quillin is PBC so we know that's out. Both Cotto & Canelo have admitted they want nothing to do with him at 160, they do not give a damn about defending the lineal title against him, winning it is all they care about. So if that's the case, if no one that has a pulse at 160 wants to fight, WHY DONT YOU MOVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????
