I analyze what happened. Had he met expectations-I'd have said so. His fans got a little too high on him and now posters are calling them out on that. That is what the forum is designed for.

There are more than 4 IMO but that isn't the issue.

The issue is simple-GGG failed to meet sales expectation for the PPV. If I and other posters want to discuss that-we surely can and will.

If you don't like that this is the topic of discussion go to another thread.

If you don't like the discussion-go away. He gets praise in the US as well. He just failed to meet PPV sales expectations and we are discussing that-as we do after any ppv fight.

Stick to your broners and wards-ooh I see where you are coming from now. Your another one of those guys who sees GGG as the face for their personal agenda.

Why do they keep saying they sold out MSG when they didn't? That's a complete lie lmao, I'm pretty sure he's lying about the ppv #'s too, we know his team loves to lie.

Gullible gennady groupies will eat up anything they say as fact smh

Loeffler himself said it need to sell 200k to be successful and now changing tune and trying pick low end of 150k, the same glazer who reports mayweather numbers and they low and ex pac fans now converted to lil g fans reported 97k as actually sells and these dudes still trying keep with the 150k lie lol just funny watching the groupies back pedal and all that a side talk biting them in the a$$

did you miss the part of the story that said "according to Tom Loeffler and Mark Taffet"??

            Reading is fundamental

With your prediction of 350k plus buys, you GUARANTEED that it would not meet expectations, and thus would warrant your criticism.

He had met expectations of the PPV. That came straight from HBO.
"Golovkin-Lemieux met or exceeded every benchmark of success which was set going into the event," Taffet told ESPN.com. "The PPV buys solidly met expectations even amidst the Mets-Cubs national telecast registering the highest-ever TBS baseball playoff viewership, including the PPV-critical markets of New York and Chicago.
The fans (and most casuals) will go with what HBO/ESPN is reporting. The haters will think they're trying to save face and assume 97k was correct. We will probably never know who's correct.

The other possible problem is that Loeffler is on record saying that 200k+ will be a success. The haters will assume that he meant that 200k is the break even point. The fans will assume success meant them being "very happy" with the performance.

I personally would rather believe the official network and assume that the event was successful, but did not live up to the expectations of the promoters. I also respect Loeffler for saying that he got caught in the hype and overestimated.. but his and Taffet's reasons are solid. The fight was on at the same time as the Cubs/Mets game. As someone who lives in NY, I can confirm that the Mets have been generating huge amount of buzz over the past 2 months - there's a Mets related conversation in the office literally every 30 minutes. I can't speak for Chicago.

Notice I am not criticizing him for failing to meet that number but for failing to exceed 200k, which was the number his team floated.

I also was not the only poster that predicted a number in that range because it was approximately where the number the other huge PPV stars had got in their PPV debuts.

My bar wasn't too high. Rather, others was extremely low and he even failed to meet that.

No that's not true at all....but if you see that then I also see that in you......I have the feeling that even if it done really well at ppv you would still say something negative about it....crawford,joshua,Degale,brook,leonard,Lewis,h earns and hundreds more are some of my favourite fighters in fact leonard is my childhood hero and I boxed because of him...I am not eastern European....I have no ties with the Russian Mafia....I don't drink neat vodka and I don't go to neo **** rally's and have not joined the Arryan race.......160 k is not a bad result and selling out msg is not easy to do considering he is not from the states and there was not American fighter on the bill.......if you judge a fighter because his ppv numbers are not up there with the mayweather and pacquaios you need to find another sport because that my friend will not make a fighter an all time great
