Lol this would make both of them look like the biggest cowards in boxing history. Vacating it would be admitting they are dead scared and afraid lol, ****ing embarrassing. Theyll onky be remembered for ducking Gennady and being cowards.

This just solidifies Gennadys position as the greatest and most feared fighter of all time though, a true phenom. I have never seen a fighter in history be as avoided and ducked as Gennady.

GGG needs to do Mosley and get in the ring afterwards and go face to face with the winner and call him out on live TV that will get the hype going and help force their hands.

..... I think it is hypocritical of Team Golovkin to refuse him a reasonable catchweight AND demand that fight immediately.....

..... if they insist on 160 they could at least give Canelo 1-2 voluntary defences to adapt to the weight before fighting a beast like Golovkin.

Preparing for 155 will not be the same as preparing for 160.

They know Canelo will be better at 160 after a couple of camps.

Golovkin is very well-managed..... they seem to be looking for every advantage they can get whilst not being prepared to take any type of risk themselves.
A few things. GGG demanded nothing. They simply stated if Ward wanted 50/50, the fight would be at 164. I don't like it, but to say that it is compareable to what Canelo wants is laughable at best. The kid is already a full blown middleweight, but can squeeze down still. He in fact outweighs GGG now on fight nights. Both of these guys fight at MW, Ward does'nt.

As for the voluntaries, **** that. As it is, even if one of these guys ends up fighting GGG next year, he will have been essentially waiting for 2 years for his shot at the belt, longer in fact if you want to put the time he chased Sergio in there. What if he loses a voluntary? Does the next guy get to drag it out for a year ad nausem?

I find it funny that you want to **** on GGG for wanting "advantages", as if fighting at the middleweight limit and enforcing mandatories is a ****ing advantage. But you seem to have no problem with Canelo dragging GGG down 5 lbs. or allowing him to let GGG age another 1 1/2 to 2 years. With the rate at which Canelo fights, it will likely be May of 2017 before they fought, if he took two voluntaries. Just no on every god damn level.

Well I don't think they would fight GGG in May anyway..maybe September of 2016. Canelo may not be able to even make 155 by then. He's a big kid sucking down to fight smaller guys...

157-158 would be fair I guess and GGG should jump at it if that's an option.

This right here. Although I wouldn't blame Cotto for not taking the fight. Id love to see it, but Cotto is in the twilight of his career and doesn't have anything left to prove.

                Yeah, at 155 only though.

Cotto doesn't have anything to prove. He's 35. Canelo is a young, big boy but has said he will only fight Golovkin at 155 pounds.

Are you guys going to use size as an excuse not to fight somebody even if that somebody grabs your girlfriend's ass???
Your final point is a street fight -- very different from a sport.

But anyway, weight classes have always existed because an elite bigger guy will almost always beat an elite smaller guy in a ring. Period. They have too many advantages.

I don't think Cotto should be holding a MW belt, when he never fought at 160. I don't think Canelo should be fighting for a MW either -- as he will not defend the title at 160, or even anywhere near 160.

Otherwise, frankly it's not fair to force anybody to move up. A mediocre to poor professional boxer at 160 would be the crap out of the best featherweight, most likely. (In the ring. Not necessarily outside the ring, as in your girlfriend scenario. That's a bit different.)

So, even though boxing has forgotten for now -- weight classes exist for a reason.
