He in fact outweighs GGG now on fight nights. Both of these guys fight at MW, Ward does'nt.
As for the voluntaries, **** that. As it is, even if one of these guys ends up fighting GGG next year, he will have been essentially waiting for 2 years for his shot at the belt, longer in fact if you want to put the time he chased Sergio in there. What if he loses a voluntary? Does the next guy get to drag it out for a year ad nausem?
I find it funny that you want to **** on GGG for wanting "advantages", as if fighting at the middleweight limit and enforcing mandatories is a ****ing advantage. But you seem to have no problem with Canelo dragging GGG down 5 lbs. or allowing him to let GGG age another 1 1/2 to 2 years. With the rate at which Canelo fights, it will likely be May of 2017 before they fought, if he took two voluntaries. Just no on every god damn level.
Forcing a genuine A-sider who has already proven himself, to fight Golovkin first time up at middleweight..... does not seem to be "fair", it does not seem to be in the best interest of Canelo, and it does not seem to be in the best interests of boxing..... it only seems to be in the best interests of Golovkin.
This guy knows whats up.....

I am not saying that I like catchweights or like this, but rather that I acknowledged this kind of stuff as part of the sport. Whether you like it or not.
Canelo's fight night weight has nothing to do with anything, in that case GGG is ducking light heavyweights too. That's a poor argument. And 155, however you slice it, is not 160.
Take Cotto for example. Cotto may be the champ, but he is no way shape or form a 160 fighter. He is just not. Do I think that ethically he should drop the belt then? Yes, but since when is ethics a part of boxing? He is doing what he can by fighting lower and lower to benefit him. So, on the technicality that he is a MW he is supposed to get in the ring with GGG with no advantages at all? Come dude, he doesn't even belong at 160 why is he going to serve himself on a platter against a monster like GGG?
Let me state it again: I am not "defending it." But I often see that boxing fans get all righteous only when their favorite fighter is on the short end of the stick. Remember Floyd and his fans making fun of Pac's cw's? Well, when it was Floyd, they forgot. GGG will have to take it. When he gets power, he will do it too. I hope you complain then too.
Don't hold GGG to a different regard. He's no different in that he is trying to secure the best fights at the best circumstances possible. If he could safely make 154, he would. If he thought he could beat up Ward easy, he would move to 168 tomorrow. That's boxing whether we like it or not.
Not defending it, just seeing boxing for what it is. Not going to get all righteous about a sport that has none of it.

It wouldn't be his first time at middleweight. The Cotto fight is for the middleweight championship of the world (not to mention his past three fights were above 154 pounds, albeit the opponents were true 154 pounders).
But none of that matters. Rules are rules. If Golovkin is mandatory, he is the mandatory and the rules should be enforced. What exactly is "fair"? Golvokin has been waiting for his crack at the title for a long ass time now. He was passed by Martinez, passed by Cotto for Geale and passed on again despite being mandatory for Canelo and now you expect Golovkin to be passed on yet again because it's not "fair" to Canelo? lol only in boxing! Look man, if these guys don't feel like fighting at middleweight, then don't fight at middleweight. Canelo can go to the 154 pound division (not a fake division that is inside middleweight). He is the one that decided to fight at middleweight, not Golovkin. Golovkin isn't forcing Canelo to fight at middleweight, Canelo made that decision himself.

Cotto is a 153lb JMW.
The Cotto/Canelo fight will determine the best JMW on the planet.
Cotto should have forced Canelo to be more professional.
Canelo has never prepared for a fight where he could weigh 160.
Canelo has never fought a middleweight.
