Canelo is 168 pounds 30 days out. He is gonna come in at 175.

But he needs a CW, why.

Because he is a ****ing *****. He knows he can't beat GGG head up, so he wants to tilt the match.

GGG should call his bluff. Say fine, here is the contract, sign it *****.
Yes, call his bluff. That's basically what I've been saying. Do that and you'll be the star everyone wants you to be if he wins.

Why do we even have weight divisions anymore? Might as well just make every fight at a contractually stipulated weight that the fighters agree on. It seems like every second fight is at a catch weight these days, most of them absolutely pathetic bull****.

I mean, who makes a 159 catch weight for a 160 lineal title fight?! One ****ing pound?! It's an embarrassment to the sport and an embarrassment to the people stipulating that as a condition of the fight. That has to be the worst catch weight I've ever heard of. One pound....

I know it's pathetici and its not good for boxing.....still can't work out why it's a catchweight when they fight in the same division......especially if your 175 walking around weight like canelo

Canelo is a big guy. He's going to be at 160 sooner rather than later you would think.

He has . . . What? A month to lose the last 12.8 pounds? Meaning he would have to lose 3.2 pounds per week. Which is going slightly above what a healthy way to lose weight would be. If he can get down to at least 158-159 on the Monday of fight week then he should be fine. Still it seems like he should go become a MW to make things healthier for himself.

Canelo is struggling to make weight for some time now but they dont want him to move to 160 because i think his power would be just average at 160 and his workrate is also not verry high. And he would be verry short at 160, i think that would be a difficult Division for him.

If Golovkin refuses a catchweight knowing that the winner will be stripped, then Golovkin avoided the winner.

                    Lets wait and see.
I don't think it would be considered avoiding. GGG has fought at 160 during his whole career. He is the star of the middleweight division. Why should he have to come down because the so called middleweight champ is too scared to fight at the full middleweight limit? If you're fighting to unify the titles it should be at the full limit. If not you need to give up the title. Its crazy how this is allowed but in boxing these days money talks and that's what matters.

The problem with the catchweight is that Canelo has his excuse should be lose. The casual fans jump on that. He knew well before he agreed to the fight and past fights that he should have moved up to 160. He obviously wants the biggest fight so he took it. However, if Cotto wins and Canelo has stamina issues anyway, then he will just say that he was weight drained. I do not think Cotto will get full credit. Cotto loses then he is over the hill.
