Actually Floyd did 350K his first PPV. But those are mere trifling facts. Carry on.

You might want to check those facts again.

It may be a big fight, but the mandatory still mucks up the negotiations.

If Canelo is willing to vacate, then he won't fight GGG. If not, then it's a mandatory defense.

This means they can't force a Catchweight, rehydration, etc.

If I were GGG, I'd just get the belt and move on.

Canelo wants to be a coward, good for him.

Canelo is the bigger PPV star, he should be, he has fights with two major stars, etc.

But he is scared to fight GGG, and that's what matters.
how is that related to my post??? canelo is hbos biggest atraction period, you saying canelo is scared doesnt make it true, in fact he went as far as saying in the past that he doesnt need to wait until he goes to 160 to fight GGG, then you had GGGs team saying they wont drop a single pound for canelo, all this happened before canelo was in line for the MW title...

I'm sure there are some welterweights that'd be willing to go to 154 for Canelo or Cotto like Bradley, Khan, or Porter and there are still the Charlo Bros at the division. Whether GGG is a bigger fight than those guys, who.knows, but the point is Canelo and Cotto have options. Also, there's no way GGG will be calling shots at the negotiation table. He's gonna take it raw.

canelo can fight nonames and still make more 300k on ppv, thats enough for him to get a 10 mill payday, on the other hand GGG cant make much without either cotto or canelo, ggg needs this fight so bad he will have to bend to every demand..

EDIT: Thanks to carloscruz10009 I stand corrected Floyd did 350K buys in his first PPV.
You can't compare Floyd's first PPV numbers to GGG. Floyd was the B-side to Gatti & Gatti wasn't HBO's featured fighter like GGG is now. GGG numbers have to be compared to HBO's other featured fighters carrying the card against weaker opposition. De LA Hoya's first PPV was against Rafael Ruelas and did 300k.

Thats a Ring Mag link from last November:

Loeffler said that Golovkin would have no problem fighting at a catchweight against Alvarez, who fought Lara in a 155-pound bout.

“We’ve always said that if there is a compelling fight, Gennady would move up or down, we’ve talked about moving up to 168 for Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. because that would be a pay-per-view fight and if it’s Canelo, then I’m sure that we could work out a catchweight if he wanted to work out a catchweight and if it’s in his best interest. So that would certainly be a pay-per-view fight,” said Loeffler.

“There wouldn’t be any issues for us to come down to fight Canelo. There would still be a title on the line for Gennady because he would be fighting under 160, so he would be able to defend the titles at 156 or whatever you have the weight be. But Gennady would be willing to come down in weight to fight Canelo. I wouldn’t say it would be at 154 but certainly, given that Canelo fought his last fight at 155, then you could say that Gennady would certainly be willing to come down in weight to make the Canelo fight.”
Of course thats assuming Canelo is not holding the MW belt.
