I think he does. It's not about that for me.

If it was about the challenge, I would say just take the belt. Canelo or Cotto will be easy work.

For me it's about what Cotto and Canelo have been doing to the division. This idea of saying "I'm not a MW," but walking around as MW champion, and demanding guys come down, it's bad for the sport.

I truly don't mind CW if it's two people from two divisions. (Which Cotto and GGG would be, but Cotto had to start being a MW champ).

In Canelo's case, he is a 174 pound guy on fight night, against Trout at least.

GGG is 170 pounds.

There is no reason for a Catchweight, none.

But he demands MW come down to 155. That's garbage. He is hoping others can't drop 15 pounds as well as he can drop 20. He wants to weaken fighters who are the same weight as him.

Trust me, if GGG went and got a SMW belt but demanded Ward to fight for it at 153, I'd call that BS.

For non-belt fights between two people from different classes, then meet in the middle.

They dont HAVE to do ****!!!! they can drop the WBC and still be Ring/Lineal champs with no obligations

Ring said that they could strip the champion of the title if he doesn't defend it against the number one contender within a certain deadline .
nobody will give a **** about a lineal champion who's fighting at catchweight , has no physical belts , and is just fresh off shamelessly ducking his mandatory challenger .

Why wouldn't Golovkin have the balls to give the winner a catchweight, he stated yesterday that he can make 154.
