I think both would fight Golovkin, at 155/156.
They will have to negotiate, so I am positive that a cw will be requested.
I really think the most likely scenario is that GGG will totally refuses a CW knowing that the winner will be stripped..... I really do.
In that case I strongly disagree that the winner will be seen as a coward.
I think Golovkin will.
We all know about the Ward catchweight, and we all know that Golovkin stated yesterday that he can make 154..... and is there really anybody who thinks that Golovkin could not beat Cotto/Canelo at 155/156?
Golovkin should be desperate for a name opponent and some exposure, especially considering that this PPV only pulled 150k..... and that fight would easily be his biggest payday.
I think that Golovkin will damage his reputation significantly if he avoids the Cotto/Canelo winner..... because he will then have avoided 3 guys with world-class skills without having even 1 on his resume.
I think he will be viewed as a paper champ who took the easy way out.Comment

You shouldn't.
A real boxing fan would not insist that a smaller guy who weighs 153 should be forced to fight a bigger guy at 160 when the bigger guy has openly stated that he can make 154, and has used catchweights himself.
He would have too much respect for the fighters.Comment

The guy with horrid syntax us giving me a lesson in on the verb form use of...
Ever hear of predicted text *******.
And why is it people always point to word usage when they are weak debaters?
Critical thinking skills can be weak, but a High Schooler should know a fallacy when they see one.
You know Lara and Andrade are actually fighting at JMW, right?
You know that Lara's master won't allow him to fight anywhere besides PBC networks, right?
You know that Andrade wouldn't even fight Matt ****ing Korobov for a MW title, right?
Canelo, who hasn't fought at 154lbs for years, should hang out at 155lbs as long as possible, but GGG should stay busy vs 2 guys who are actually fighting at 154lbs? lol
That don't make no sense bro
Both have called GGG out. But you missed my entire point.
Who does Canelo fight if he vacates the WBC strap and Lineal. He goes back to 154, loses. Maybe he does, a rematch with Cotto.
My point was GGG will have all the same options as Canelo.
Canelo is under immense pressure to take this fight.
He is already the betting underdog.
I'm on a ****ing IPad mini, it predicted the text, I let it. Now you done being my English teacher, can I work on your horrible syntax?
I'm not apologizing to your ass.
Can't debate a lick, so you come with this. Come with something!
Go look up fallacy. You can thank me later!Comment

How is he avoiding them when they are quite literally vacating a WBC belt and Lineal over a few pounds.
The only thing it does is take away some PPV exposure.
It doesn't hurt Cotto much, he'll retire.
Canelo will be seen as weak, and a guy afraid to take on GGG.
All anyone on boxing sites seem to be talking about is GGG versus Canelo, GGG versus Mayweather (ESPN Smith has brought this up on first take).
Everyone knows the ball is directly in Canelo's court. Do you really think most fans care about the weight.
"I won't fight GGG because he wants the fight to be at 160, MW."
That's what you think will go over good with fans.
Whatever, mark my words. No one will judge GGG for ducking Canelo.
GGG just says let's fight. Take 70/30. Do this "good boy."
Canelo has 15 days to decide after Cotto fight.
We will see then.Comment

Who forced Cotto to fight for the MW title at 157?
First: Cotto isn't getting into the ring with GGG (first because he is losing to Canelo, second, because he will get hurt).
I agree with this point, COTTO IS TOO SMALL FOR GGG, but...
Who forced Cotto to become MW champion?
Cotto chose to step up into the MW.
Canelo is choosing to fight for that.
If Cotto isn't big enough, then why did he come get the MW belt from a one legged man?
You act like Cotto was thrust into a MW division by some unknown force. He chose this. He can just leave.
We don't need a 155 division, but if we must have it, they need to create separate belts.
MW title fights need to be at 160. Cotto or Canelo can weigh what they want too.
You shouldn't.
