No they won't be considered that at all Doug fisher has already said that the ring will update the rankings if they both avoid triple ggg.....you can't be in a division and blatantly avoid a challenge and expect to remain above the guy you dodged....what kind of world do you live in lol

Larry,why do you insist on bringing in financial things into the equation? If cotto or canelo decide not to fight golovkin,they get stripped of the belt,and golovkin becomes the full wbc champ. If the wbc tries to be funny,k2 takes them to court,and they take the belt by force. After that, all ggg has to do is take the wbo belt from the Lee-saunders winner,and he becomes THE middlewights champ of the world. Like I said before,the lineal title mean squat if it doesn't belong to the best in the division,which is clearly golovkin.

I just said they can hand GGG the WBC title..so what..they will still be lineal /Ring champs......He can win all the ABC titles but will not be lineal...nor undisputed

Championship vacancies can be filled in the following two ways:

THE RING’s Nos. 1 and 2 contenders fight one another.
If the Nos. 1 and 2 contenders chose not to fight one another and either of them fights No. 3, No. 4 or No. 5, the winner may be awarded THE RING belt if the Editorial Board deems the contenders worthy.

Here is how the Ring can Strip (I put in bold the relevant info to Canelo/Cotto)

Here are the seven situations in which a champion can lose his belt:

1. The Champion loses a fight in the weight class in which he is champion.

2. The Champion moves to another weight class.

3. The Champion does not schedule a fight in any weight class for 18 months.

4. The Champion does not schedule a fight at his championship weight for 18 months (even if he fights at another weight).

5. The Champion does not schedule a fight with a Top-5 contender from any weight class for two years.

6. The Champion retires.

7. The Champion tests positive for a banned substance.

If Canelo vacates, the excuse will be they are going back to 154. De la Hoya has basically said that.

Now sure, they can just fight at 155, and keep it. But how does that look to fans, who know Ring Mag is owned by Goldenboy

The Lineal can be stripped. Since Goldenboy owns Ring, it's doubtful it will happen.

But don't think that everyone won't know about it.
