I don't see why people are fussing over Golovkin hitting Lemieux on the canvas or the stoppage because it wouldn't have made a difference. Golovkin was going to win either way. Anybody who watched the fight know who dished out the most punishment and it wasn't Lemieux

People are fussing about it because many fighters have lost fights by disqualification for lesser punches when a fighter was down. Its a dirty move and very dangerous thats why it usually leads to automatic disqualification. Jones lost to griffin for a lesser shot and he would of won that fight easily too. Proved it in the rematch. GGG got lucky the ref didn't stop the fight or take a point away.

Golovkin's main attribute is his power, he's a good fighter but it was Roman Gonzalez who stole the show tonight! That is who you call a great, elite fighter. He was sublime and his talent and skill level compared to Golovkin is leagues above. Hype him up if anyone!

David was dropped, eating hard jabs and hooks, had a bloody nose, and was about to get cornered in the 8th round and some people are fussing over the stoppage? Ridiculous!

You can't just fight back and expect to keep on going. It has to make a difference and seeing how Lemieux was still eating hard shots while hardly doing anything with his own, he clearly wasn't. The stoppage is understandable to me. It'd be different if he still had a chance but he obviously didn't.

Great performance by Golovkin. I don't regret buying it. It was far from a boring fight. Hope that the winner of the Cotto-Canelo match with fight him next.

I'm so excited to see the smaller than Liemieux-- Canelo or even smaller Cotto fight this long ranging power puncher next. Honestly though, GGG should test himself or something. What a garbage and one sided affair. I was actually more excited throughout the Gonzalez fight coming in as a GGG fan. Until I saw the huge size( I mean human skeleton build--not weight) disparity.

Canelo rehydrates more than GGG.

It's really simple,so just follow me on this one. Golovkin rehydrated to 170 this night,while ward weighed in at 172 for his last fight. That means that even after fully rehydrating,golovkin is still smaller than wards weigh in weight. So please stop spouting this "they're the same size " nonsense.
