People are fussing about it because many fighters have lost fights by disqualification for lesser punches when a fighter was down. Its a dirty move and very dangerous thats why it usually leads to automatic disqualification. Jones lost to griffin for a lesser shot and he would of won that fight easily too. Proved it in the rematch. GGG got lucky the ref didn't stop the fight or take a point away.

      • Golovkin's main attribute is his power, he's a good fighter but it was Roman Gonzalez who stole the show tonight! That is who you call a great, elite fighter. He was sublime and his talent and skill level compared to Golovkin is leagues above. Hype him up if anyone!

Lets' judge a fighter by their accomplishments. Like how Ward's recent opponent's have none at all.

          • The better GGG does, the more these guys posts make zero sense

Anybody who watched the fight know who dished out the most punishment and it wasn't Lemieux. Heck, he took an even worse beating than the one Angulo took from Canelo. David was dropped, eating hard jabs and hooks, had a bloody nose, and was about to get cornered in the 8th round and some people are fussing over the stoppage? Ridiculous!

You can't just fight back and expect to keep on going. It has to make a difference and seeing how Lemieux was still eating hard shots while hardly doing anything with his own, he clearly wasn't. The stoppage is understandable to me. It'd be different if he still had a chance but he obviously didn't.

Great performance by Golovkin. I don't regret buying it. It was far from a boring fight. Hope that the winner of the Cotto-Canelo match with fight him next.
They were going to find something, anything to grasp to.

When GGG beats Canelo, they will say Canelo sucks.

When he unifies the MW, they will say it is meaningless.

When he moves up, they will make some other excuse.

I'm so excited to see the smaller than Liemieux-- Canelo or even smaller Cotto fight this long ranging power puncher next. Honestly though, GGG should test himself or something. What a garbage and one sided affair. I was actually more excited throughout the Gonzalez fight coming in as a GGG fan. Until I saw the huge size( I mean human skeleton build--not weight) disparity.
            Canelo rehydrates more than GGG.

            Is Canelo shorter, yes.

But Hagler was shorter than Hearns. ETC.

Canelo has been fight at 155 for three fights, but he is ranked at MW\

and about to have the MW belt and lineal title.

Or Cotto will, so either way, no one made them play with MW.

Huh,so that explains why we are 5 weeks away from cotto-canelo and we still don't know at what weight ward will fight at...or who he will fight for that matter. It's really simple,so just follow me on this one. Golovkin rehydrated to 170 this night, while ward weighed in at 172 for his last fight. That means that even after fully rehydrating, golovkin is still smaller than wards weigh in weight. So please stop spouting this "they're the same size " nonsense.

              • Roy: I woulda got disqualified for a punch like that.
Jim: Some fighters would feign being knocked out, to get the other fighter disqualified.
                Roy: Like Montell.

Those lines made me laugh harder than they probably should.

One more time. Look at how late Jones punch was compared to GGG's.

Are you serious, get off it. It made no difference. If it would have, they would have done something.

Are you F'n ******ed? He already said that he is not moving up. The WBC Title (Cotto Vs Canelo) is up next. And then it's on to the WBO Middleweight Title. That's the plan.

                      Get over it.
