Looks like those "horrible" PBC ratings are beginning to pay off. Shocker.Tally another network for power broker Al Haymon. The influential and mysterious adviser/manager has just added Fox to his ever-growing list of networks for his Premier Boxing Champions series, which now includes: CBS, NBC, NBC Sports Net, ESPN, Spike TV, Bounce TV, Fox Sports 1, and now the main Fox network.
Fox will host at least three PBC cards in 2016, all on Saturday nights from 8-10pm EST. The first show is scheduled to be held on Jan. 23, with the other two shows scheduled for March 12 and July 16. The network sent out notifications to its affiliates this week making the announcement and letting them know how much allotted commercial time would be available for sale during each of the shows.Comment

I think it'll be more like late 2017 or 2018 if PBC does take over (these pending lawsuits are really the only thing I see stopping PBC in particular if Schaeffer takes the helm as a CEO or some high position with PBC). HBO is still the baddest mfer in the game & I don't see that changing too soon.
I think if Haymon can lure some guys from their HBO, TR, GBP, RN or other promoter deals over the next year or two & get some of the next generation boxers from the class of 2016 things will really start turning PBC's way. Haymon needs to lure away a couple GGG, Kov, Gonzales, Crawford, Canelo or Cotto type cats. Any notable non-PBC champion would be a score doe. Its already at the point that if you wanna be on TV & get TV kinda money & aren't a HBO caliber guy your best choice is PBC.Comment

Establishing cards on just 2 or 3 networks with consistent time slots would do better for the brand than watering it down by having cards featured all over the place during different time slots on any given day of the week. It's hard to build a following when you're all over the place without any consistency.Comment

All the better for boxing. Casuals fans can tune in and see a guy on the undercard that you would probably never see because they don't have that big promotional backing and they can choose to become fans of them.Comment
