If GGG loses every hater and doubter will call him a hypejob. You lose once and you are immediately a hypejob. Sad but true.

If he loses it says more about Lemieux. I already know GGG is a top fighter based on his amateur pedigree and the way he has dismantled decent ranked contenders.

His resume is garbage but this isn't Wilder we're talking about. He actually fights ranked contenders for the most part.

That will be unfortunate. GGG is hated widely enough that if he loses, it won't be "David is amazing!", it will be "Gennady lost to a bum".

There should in reality be nothing shameful about losing to a fight as dangerous as DL. But Golovkin is the object of some cheesy racial coldwar where he's either God or garbage... Whilst DL is very underrated/ignored despite being a scary scary middleweight.

This is a much closer fight than depicted.

I think that is the plan Goldenboy is laying out for Canelo. They want him to be this fake lineal champion. Vacating the WBC like it's meaningless. That way they can stretch out fighting GGG.

I hope GGG goes into full PR mode, calling Goldeboy out on this whole Ring mag partnership and creating fake MW division.
If Lemieux manages to drop a mortar on Golovkin, he will accept a catchweight from Cotto because he will want that amazing payday. So will Lee. They will accept 156 and go down like Geale.

Nah, he won't need to fight him.

If Lemieux gets lucky, Cotto will only be a couple of easy wins away from becoming the undisputed, unified, lineal, Middleweight Champion of the World.

And hes not even a real middleweight

          Its fkn amazing really.

Cotto is a legend, if all that happened, I wonder if he would have the balls to fight Ward.

I like GGG, he looks like a nice guy with promising near future, but when an evil company like Apple sponsors him, when he achieved literally nothing in boxing, I start to have my su****ions and may cheer for Lemieux and his future opponents.

LOL... Would Cotto really want to go after Lemieux if he drops Golovkin clean ? Food for thought...

Not to hate, even though it will seem like it because I criticize Golovkin so much, so no one will believe this is a genuine experience I had. But I spoke to my coworkers about the Apple Watch commercial and they did not know who he was. I was trying to get their take on the GGG-Lemiuex fight and they had no idea who either of them was, so I used the Apple Watch commercial to give them a little help and they didn't know that was aftually a pro boxer. In fact, a coworker turned the conversation into Ronda Rousey, he said "I'd **** the **** out of that UFC chick, Ronda Rousey" and a convo about how hot she is started. Lemiuex, forget it, that's a lost cause, if GGG is still unknow to Americans.

If he were to lose, Kovalev would quickly become a fan favorite on here

Hype job has negative connotations, but it is very literal. It's a job that was done to hype an athlete, a combatant. GGG is literally a hype job right now, he is good, but he is also a hype job, HBO and his managers and fans are hyping him up as the next big thing. He has not fought a great fighter yet, and yet he is great supposedly. If he loses to a fighter of Lemiuex's class yeah, he would pretty much further confirm his hype job status and it will die down. If he wins, the hype job will get bigger and keep building.
