The WBO sanctions fights. They don't negotiate or promote. They gave him a free handout to fight anyone in the Top 15 and Caribe hasn't done a damn thing.

I'm not sure but if I had to guess it expires on Nevuary 32nd. I don't think Rigo is smart enough to realize that Caribe is a sham company that just wants to get rich off of him by doing nothing. They are hoping Haymon or Roc Nation agrees to some co-promotion deal where Caribe takes a percentage for sitting on their ass.
That's probably why these people want nothing to do with Rigo.Comment

First it was arum's fault, then it was hyde's fault, then there were a lot of promoters waiting for Sept 15 to negotiate fights, now they'll defend the belt "tooth n nail"
Leeches, the best n easiest way to defend the title is by fighting, send offers to any of the 15 ranked fighters, offer them enough money that they can't refuse and done.
Oh, you don't have the money? You need a co promoter?
What are you good for, then? Can't walk the walk? Don't talk then.
Rico is done, by staying with the leeches, either by ignorance or ******ity, he has signed his sentence. And this is from a Cuban n a fan.Comment

It is his promoter's job to get Rigondeaux fights. Rigondeaux has had three fights in three years. Even if none of the top fighters want to fight him, Caribe should get him fights with bottom tier fighters. He is not even getting those fights and has no fights on the horizon. That tells us what kind of job that Caribe is doing.
Once Rigondeaux is stripped of his title, his career will definitely be over because no fighter -- top or bottom tier -- will have any reason to fight him.Comment

His ex-manager, Gary Hyde, was on the verge of getting him signed to a contract with Roc Nation. However, Caribe blocked it because they were not getting a big enough cut. Now, Rigondeaux has no fights on the horizon and is in danger of losing his title. It must be that - such a shame - I can't understand why boxing journalists don't investigate what exactly his contract is. That said, he could break it if someone (like Haymon) would buy him out of it. This must be so frustrating for him. His ex-manager should have steered him away from Caribe towards a promoter with deeper pockets that could make the fights attractive for his potential opponents.
Speaking of his ex-manager, Rigondeaux and Caribe made it sound like all of Rigo's problems were due to Hyde and once Rigo broke away from Hyde, he had several managers and promoters willing to sign him. Well, it has been month since his contract with Hyde ended and we have heard nothing about any managers or promoters showing any interest in Rigondeaux or anyone offering him fights.Last edited by big_james10; 10-12-2015, 12:44 AM.Comment

Hyde's done a lot for him... shit, Hyde was the one who helped him defect from Cuba.... no idea why Rigo is so loyal to CaribeHis ex-manager, Gary Hyde, was on the verge of getting him signed to a contract with Roc Nation.
