Ward will fight Gonzalez, Barrera, and Kovalev.
That'd be alright, though not by p4p #2 standards since neither Cuban has a halfway decent win (though YG shaded Pascal IMO). But it's nothing like offering to go up 8lbs and face p4p rated, #1 SMW Froch in the UK. Still Gonzalez is who HBO wanted, there were rumors Ward had turned him down weeks ago. If not, why is there no announcement 6 weeks out, what's the holdup?

By themselves Roc Nation ain't doing a damn thing. Ward is blowing it big time. If Roc Nation wants to start making noise they are going to have to start putting up some big money to make these big fights for Ward, i.e. Golovkin and kovalev. They can't sit back and make fights like this.
You can thank HBO for the Cotto = Canelo fight. If they had not insisted on it, Cotto would most likely have fought Geale on BET and would now be sitting on the bench beside Ward trying to find another easy target.

It's was HBO that pushed Cotto but Golden Boy was doing everything they could to make it happen. HBO just had the ability to put Cotto up against the wall to force him to take it and it turn Cotto was able to get an offer he couldn't refuse.

Now if Roc Nation can just start making Golovkin and Kovalev offers they can't refuse then they can start making some big fights. If you really want to make a splash in boxing as a promoter it's not just about getting big name fighters. You have to also make big time fight for those big time fighters. You can't just say we have so and so and expect things to come. You have to go out and make it happen.

I'd only complain about Ward's comp if he didn't eventually fight Kovalev....I don't care which ranked opponents he fights to get there. And yeah, the silence from HBO, Roc Nattion and Ward is irritating.

Alright man, but he's not looking for ranked opponents it seems, and gets a ton of leeway from posters who want GGG to jump when Ward says hop, despite finally having great options in his weight class unlike Ward. Doubt he'd get much sympathy for wanting 3 tuneups at 168 before facing Ward.

GB did everything possible once before as well but it went nowhere. If not for HBO telling Cotto and RN that this fight happens next or Cotto does not fight on HBO, the fight once again would have gone nowhere. Cotto was also jammed in that if he did not fight Canelo, he would have had to fight GGG or be stripped of his title. He was basically in a corner with only one way out.

Ward, on the other hand, has no one to put pressure on him. I believe he would be perfectly fine fighting on BET and getting paid his $2 million per tomato can and taking a taxi home after the fight. If WBA have not stripped his title by now, they never will. He could probably run out his contract on BET and retire in comfort, never having to fight a tough fight again. OF course, this would probably totally wreck whatever chance RN has of ever being taken seriously as a promoter again. So they may have to put some pressure on Ward of their own before this is all said and done.

Most likely the HBO 3 fight deal. HBO most likely want certain things and so does Ward's team... so they're trying to **** it

And how much time are you willing to give Ward to work his way up to fighting Kovalev? 6 months? 1 year? 2? As long as Ward wants to take?
