I would not care to be honest. His only losses are to Rodriguez and Grachev. GGG fans did not care when Golovkin fought Osunomu Adama, Willie Monroe Jr, and Nabuhiro Ishida. I just want to see Ward shake the cobwebs with a couple of average fighters then fight 2 other good fighters.

Golovkin fights 4x a year and has been facing the very best in his division.

Ward had his tune up already in Paul Smith and has done nothing of worth in years.

Situations are totally different, but you know that already, don't you?

Paul Smith was a BELOW AVERAGE fighter. Augustuma is a BELOW AVERAGE fighter. When does Ward work his way up to average? After fighting below average guys? So after this fight, Ward gets another two fights against AVERAGE guys and THEN he can take on a quality contender or two and THEN he can fight Kovalev?

That will probably take us well into 2018 and Kovalev will no longer be fighting at LHW if he is still fighting at all.

It's Gonzalez. Which isn't a bad fight at all leading up to Kovalev.

Got a link to back that up? It has been reported that Ward refused Gonzalez.

hmmm its not the same at all but you can keep pretending its the same to defend the coward ward. ggg first tried to fight all the best fighters in his division and when he didn't get those fights then he fought those guys as tune ups while fighting 3-4 times a year. ward is going straight to tune ups without trying to fight anyone good. how can you not understand the 2 different approaches each guys has? if ward had tried to fight all the best at 168 and 175 and couldn't get a fight then it would be similar but he hasn't tried that. in fact he's turned down a bunch of good fighters the last 4 years so take your head out of your ass and stop trying to create false equivalencies because you fail every time. one guy is trying and is fighting good opponents. one guy is not trying and isn't fighting good opponents. that is ward. the shake off the cobwebs is utter nonsense. its his own fault that he's not fighting because he was offered several great fights but turned them all down because he wanted to fight bums!

I'm not sure he fights on the cotto ppv tbh. Buy I think his next fight is likely Gonzalez. And who gas it Bern reported by? Last I checked HBO gave a,list of acceptable opponents and that's where it's been left at. Gonzalez turns down a fight, his only likely opponents are either Beterbiev or Ward. I'm thinking Ward. We will see. Either way, Ward is not fighting Augustama

Saw that name too, but uncertain myself. With that said, even though he's not the focal point of the PPV, still kind of odd he has no opponent or rumor of one
And the closer we get to the PPV, the higher the chance any opponent Ward fights on it would be ****.
