They flat-out said it wasn't "worth the risk", and that's a literal quote from Genady's manager last week. If you have faith in your guy, how does 'risk' slip out of your mouth. Genady's place in this biz is about making money and they've done a great job at suckering people into believing in his aura of invincibility. There is no interest in challenging him.

Ggg was ready to face of all people Chavez Jr

It doesn't matter of Ward was a huge draw they stil, would have found an excuse not to make the fight or request particular advantages

Uhhh because people in boxing aren't ******ed?

Where do fans get this idea that fights are risk-free? It's still a sport where you're punching a guy in the head.

Of course boxing is about making money. Again, it's a sport where you're punching a guy in the head. If you're not making money then why even bother at it?

We'd love to see that, but Andre hasn't filed a lawsuit in a while and is likely gearing up for one. he can't let something as trivial as boxing get in the way of his real passion, litigation.

If Ward was worth any money in terms of ticket sales they would find a way to make the fight happen. As it is though, he's not worth much. (And he seems to be planning a move to LHW anyway).

Again what is wrong with your critical thinking skills people?? It makes me wonder if a lot of you guys are fighters after all, who have been hit a few too many times in the gym.

This is the same reason why people don't want to fight Rigondeaux. It has nothing to do with "challenging yourself," it's taking the reward and dividing it by the risk and looking at the number that comes out. If the number is in the low decimals, better believe fighters aren't going to risk their health for peanuts just so fans can talk about how great they are for being "challenged."

Lest anyone forgets, Nonito Donaire "challenged" himself and got nothing but **** from these ungrateful fans.

Some boxers actually care more about legacy than money ..Kovalev is an example of,that

Some fighters actually value legacy over money !

In years to come will we be debating their purses or their fights that's all I want to know ..

Based on what evidence? He went after Stevenson? Guess what, Kovalev-Stevenson would be a very lucrative fight. Better believe Kovalev doesn't take it for free.

Kovalev has an HBO-exclusive deal. Guess why? They're paying him good money. He could have stayed a free agent, negotiated fight-to-fight, and would be available to fight Stevenson on NBC or whatever. But HBO is paying the bills.

Oh yeah and don't for a second think he didn't get paid against Hopkins either.

Name names. I'll bet every guy you can think of is someone who fought well-known fighters for good money.

Thin argument and it folds under one word; Lemieux. If it's all a risk and they aren't scared of Ward, why is Lemieux a PPV fight when he could make 3x as much fighting Ward? People are clamoring to see these two fight. It's simply because Golovkin and his team know it's a fight he can't win. That's the undiluted truth.
