Ward is living off his accomplishments from years ago. No different than the 35 year old who peaked in high school and still wears his lettermans jacket.....
lets face it. Ward is "Rob Lowe with cable".....

Floyd Mayweather was beating all the fighters in his division easily. youll said move up to 154 fight canelo. Beats Canelo. Fight Pacquiao. Beats Pacquiao. Fight GGG. GGG is not beating but demolishing all the middleweights in his way. Fight Ward. Andre stop saying my name. A true champion wants to test his self against the best regardless of popularity, fight activity, and all the other bs excuses. Lets say Floyd don't fight in two or three years and comes back wanting to fight ggg. You think able sanchez would say he needs to get some fights ? the best want to fight the best. GGG needs to ask Donaire about fighting the best regardless of popularity and number of fights. Donaire lost but still gets respect because he took the challenge. Not 1 but 2 times.Comment

So if Floyd comes back 3 years from now and wants to fight ggg do all floyds accomplishments go out the window since he was inactive ?Comment

"mando" to the WBC 160 title, not Cotto/Canelo; Jorge Sebastian Heiland has been owed a shot for a while, and that'll be the name that Golovkin steps in with for the vacant belt.Let's see, one guy is unifying on Hbo, selling out MSG, mando to Cotto/Canelo for 3belts and lineal
Another guy is doing 3ook on BET, making joke offers to a division+ smaller guy with a weak resume, wanting Ppv upside for an undercard, asking for 2m for Paul Smith, Zac Dunn, Periban etc, turning down Yunieski etc
Can you spot a punk in this lineup?
And, for the record, Ward-Smith (the entire two-hour TV broadcast block) apparently did just short of 325k viewers; that means the 10-round undercard fight, the musical performance by Nipsey Hussle, and the ~20 minutes of fill-in air time were all counted as being part of Andre Ward's fight. Note how no reference is ever made to the peak viewership for Andre Ward's fight. [PPV share was only even sideways mentioned as being a means by which RocNation would be able to finance Andre Ward's appearance on the PPV; ie, rather than simply increase the cost of putting on the show by the possible $2m for Ward's fight, you pay Ward $250k plus a share of the PPV worth $1.5m of the expected net proceeds. Cotto-Canelo is expected to do $50m on PPV ($25m, net proceeds), with Ward needing to get $1.5m to cover his fight, putting Ward's share at 6% of the net proceeds on the PPV (every other term stays as was negotiated)].
Golovkin is going to fight Lemieux, will likely fight the Johnson/O'Kane winner to fulfill the IBF mandatory, follow that up with the fight against Heiland for the vacant WBC belt, and fight two more cans, all on PPV mind you (since HBO isn't shelling out a $2m-$3m site fee for three straight 30:1 fights), as he hopes for a shot at the WBO belt.
honesty isn't a bad thing; you should try it out some timeComment

Lol! That's funny.
You know that only works if he never fights a guy bigger than him.Floyd Mayweather was beating all the fighters in his division easily. youll said move up to 154 fight canelo. Beats Canelo. You Ward fans act like GGG has to give up his MW goals because you want him to lose.
The fact Ward didn't take the GGG when first discussed kinda disproves your premise.
So Ward sends a contract when he is read. But even then it was for next year.
GGG has big fights lined up.
I'm surprised so many of you can't see what this is really about.
Rock wants GGG to give up the mandatory for Cotto's belt.
So they think he should just give pass on that.
Cotto has been ducking GGG, but Rock has the nerve to question is opposition.
Well tell you fighter to stop ducking his mandatory.
Cotto is about the same weight difference between GGG as GGG to WardComment

Wrong. As interim champ, if the Cotto-Canelo winner gets stripped then GGG (or Lemieux if he wins) will be elevated to full champ. They will not have to fight for a vacant title.
Heiland could indeed end up as a mandatory, but thats it........Comment

If Golovkin and his camp were never really about that life, they need to take those sentiments public, since their fans have been making fools of themselves (not that long ago, this site had a thread where folks actually debated Kovalev-Golovkin, with a lot of folks having Golovkin winning such a fight, completly ignoring the reality that Kovalev would walk into the ring for any such fight at 190lbs).you do understand that circumstances change, dont you? Most of the conversations about Ward happened at a time when K2 couldnt get any other 160 champs to fight, so they were looking outside the division. They had signed to fight Chavez, and also reached out to Hearn to make a Froch fight. And during that entire time, Ward was quiet as a church mouse.
Well NOW that is no longer the case, they have Lemieux made, they are mando for Cotto-Canelo winner, and then probably Lee after that. And of course NOW here comes Ward making offers that only a compete ****** would take seriously. GGG's dance card is full for the next 6-12 months. So let Ward go fight Porky Medina or someone on an undercard somewhere, and maybe the fight can be revisited when GGG is finished at 160
Odds are that they won't, as doing so will undermine the entire "Golovkin will wreck anything" image that they and HBO have been pushing for the last three years.Comment

The PPV split for Cotto-Canelo was negotiated LONG before Ward came into the conversation. So who's going to give up part of their ppv share? Canelo?? Golden Boy? Cotto? LMAO. None of those en****** would give up 50 cents to add Ward to the show, since he wouldnt add 25 buys to the event. The cost of the Ward fight would have to come solely out of Roc Nations pocket......"mando" to the WBC 160 title, not Cotto/Canelo; Jorge Sebastian Heiland has been owed a shot for a while, and that'll be the name that Golovkin steps in with for the vacant belt.
