Comments Thread For: Roc Nation: GGG's Team Turned Down Ward in 36 Minutes

I think you missed the point.
If Team Golovkin genuinely wanted that fight, they could not possibly make a decision of that magnitude within 36 minutes.
It would take longer than that to get everybody involved.
They never considered it, not for 1 second..... just the opposite in fact.
They did not use every excuse in the book for no reason.Comment

Canelo Alvarez has never weighed more than 155 at the official weigh-in for a fight ever, and he and his camp have already gone on record stating that junior middleweight is the weight that they want to compete. Fighting Miguel Cotto is a massive fight for Canelo Alvarez because he is fighting Miguel Cotto; the fact that Cotto has the WBC 160 belt, in the grand scheme of things, doesn't mean all that much.Oh wow the excuses for Canelo to duck are already starting lol.
Canelo and GGG are roughly the same size on fight night. GGG was 170lbs on fight night vs Monroe Jr. Canelo is 170+ on fight night for fights at 155-159lb catchweights.
Canelo is a MW draining himself for a weight advantage. GGG is a MW fighting at his natural weight.
If the Cotto-Canelo winner chooses to vacate rather than defend the Middleweight title vs GGG then that is as clear of a duck as you will see
Holy **** this place is crazy lol
Canelo Alvarez is all of 25 years old; of course he's "draining himself" (in actuality, being that young, his body is still able to take off weight pretty comfortably).
Hilarious, though, that Golovkin's been basically fighting at 160 since he was 20 years old (last two years as an amateur were at same-day weight of 165lbs), yet you have no issue with his own boiling down; no physical develop over the last 13 years? gtfoh.
will laugh my face off when Golovkin gets stuck.Comment

Of course it will be a tuneup, he has been inactive for 18 months and is yet to determine which division he will settle into.lol soon. Ok.
I've been telling you tards that it's going to be a tune up.
His next fight(when ever that is) will also be a tune up.
That will take us into 2nd half of 2016 before Ward is ready to fight anybody good...If Ward stays healthy and IF he fights in November.
These are the "excuses" that you have been crying about. You keep calling reality "excuses" lol
Golovkin has been fighting tuneups for 9 years, whats his excuse ?Comment

I hope Ward's team at Roc Nation really isn't this ******. Why the **** would they try to make a fight with GGG immediately following the Lemieux fight knowing GGG is fighting the Cotto-Canelo winner next. Of course they would turn it down. It makes it seem like either Roc Nation is clueless or weren't really serious about making the fight. Of course GGG's management isn't going to jeopardize the fight with Cotto/Canelo. Any half-brained fool knows this so why didn't Roc Nation shoot for after Lemieux and after the WBC title fight, whether it's vs Cotto/Canelo or a WBC contender if they are stripped? Had they done that, then I'd think Roc Nation was serious about making the fight, but this offer of trying to supersede the Cotto/Canelo winner is just idiocy and makes it seem like they weren't very serious.Last edited by Beatdaddy; 10-10-2015, 06:07 AM.Comment

They will weigh 155 or less you tool, Cotto will likely weigh 153-154
I wouldn't give a shht if they were fighting for the pink crocs, that fight will determine the best JMW on the planet.Comment

We come back to this again. You're an embarrassing, clueless poser, nobody cares what you think. Every decent ranking will have the winner #1 at MWComment

Who cares about fight-night weight.
How is that even relevant ?
The amount of functional muscle-mass and conditioning that you can take into a fight is determined at the official weigh-in.
If Canelo can make 154 and remain healthy throughout the fight then he is a JMW.
He fights JMW's at 155 out of entitlement, which is unprofessional.
That doesn't make him a middleweight dude.
Middleweights prepare for a fight in which they can weigh up to 160, against an opponent who will be doing the same.
Thats does not describe Canelo at all my friend.Comment

No, 2 tuneups to shake off the rust and get sharp following an 18-month layoff.
Likely another if the plan is to move up to LHW.
