Cause just so you know, you can't go from unranked at SMW, to #1 ranked just for beating the #1 ranked contender.
If you beat the highest ranked fighter in the division, theres no reason why you can't be the highest ranked fighter. Its not necessarily a given, but in some cases theres a big argument for it. If Walters beat Uchiyama, i think nearly everyone would say Walters would be the new king of 130. I personally don't think a win over Abraham would entitle someone instantly to no.1 though, other fighters have better wins imo.

Broner was given the courtesy when he moved up and beat no.1 Demarco

Its strange how most of us on here praise lineal titles to high heaven, but seem to turn a blind eye to one of its major flaws, which is exactly this scenario.

So you are his secretary, answering for him?

Why are you telling me what title Murray would win if he beats Abraham? That is not what I asked. What is the point of replying to the post you quoted? You said absolutely nothing of note. That Murray would win Abraham's WBO title and crack the top 10 at SMW. No **** sherlock. He said Murray would become #1 SMW if he beats Abraham.

For that to happen, the division would have to be totally weak and it would have to obvious and agreed upon by everyone that the new fighter who just beat the #1 guy is now the #1 guy. Beating Abraham will not accomplish that for any Middleweight.

And how are you judging who the number 1 SMW is? By what ratings? Your own? RING? The fantasy 'lineal' ratings which really do not exist? What top 10 list are you using as your standard?

So you're saying Murray beats #1 but instead of him being #1 some guy who didn't beat #1 should move up.

So let my clarify for you, if Murray beat Abraham he should be ranked #1 at SuperMiddle.

Just Like Postol who just beat #1 at Super Lightweight is now ranked #1.

Should we just reward fighters for not beating the top fighter?

I don't quite understand what your argument is.

Is your argument that if Murray beats Abraham he becomes the #1 ranked SMW? I don't get it. What are you trying to say here? First you are telling me obvious things like what belt Murray would win if he beats AA, and that he will enter the top 10 at SMW by beating AA. I go by The Ring mostly. AA is #1 ranked right now, though I think DeGale is the best SMW, followed by Jack. But I have no issue with AA as #1. Now what is your point? Can you get to it already?

Postol was already #7, so it makes sense that he became #1 by beating #1.

Murray is not in the top at SMW.

You are comparing two different situations

Look man I don't believe in miving guys up just because.

You have to either beat #1 or build a resume that justifies you moving passed them.

But as of now no one has that and beating Abraham should place Murray #1.
