Comments Thread For: Arthur Abraham-Martin Murray Looms For 11/21

According to several UK outlets, Martin Murray (32-2-1, 15KOs) is expected to be announced as the next opponent for WBO super middleweight champion Arthur Abraham.

Murray, who extending middleweight destroy Gennady Golovkin to eleven rounds in February, cited weight concerns after the contest and made an immediate move to the super middleweight division.

Interesting fight. If Murray beats Abraham he's ranked #1 at Super Middleweight and will win a championship. Well deserved especially if he can pull off a victory in Germany.

Murray should ace this, just like with Sturm. They'll still rob him in Germany, though.

Hmm great match up, Murray dominates over 12 and loses in Germany 116-112 across the board. Thanks for coming.

What? Repeat that, if Murray beats Abraham he will become #1 at SMW because AA is #1? Or you are just saying that Abraham is #1 and it would be a good win for Murray if he beats him?

Cause just so you know, you can't go from unranked at SMW, to #1 ranked just for beating the #1 ranked contender.

If Murray beats Abraham, he becomes WBO SMW World Champion. What other rankings are important? RING Magazine? Not really. Their title is currently vacant. While Abraham is their number 1 rated SMW, beating him would certainly move Murray into their top 10.

Ha, cuz traveling works so well for him.

Well... good luck to him. I'm not gonna say it's his last big fight since Hearn will match him domestically till he's done, but this is either his last or second to last

A tough yet winnable one for Murray.

Yeah, Hopkins/Abraham in January at Barclays Center was never going to happen. I'm going with Murray for the upset, Abraham is garbage these days.
