While I agree Mayweather's marketing plays into this, I would also say it isn't his fault that he's been so much better than all of his opponents.
Larry spoke the truth he absolutely cherry picked most of the names on his resume especially once he moved up from 130 ..

" The Timing is Right "

An all time Mayweather quote ..

So much truth Larry. We pay to be entertained it's not only about winning it's about wining with a fighters heart on his sleeves. Like true warriors of the past brought forth in this game.

Like him or hate Him he says the truth. Floyd played it safe and conned the world.

Now he is walking a way with a load of cash. Still the IV gate ain't over. Armstrong took awhile before he got caught. The fans will get the last laugh Larry. Don't you worry.

Quite naturally it's reasonable to extrapolate and understand Mayweather's entire career based on this quote? What I have to say to this is, it's over, the guy's retired unless he says otherwise, so let it go. Floyd's career will no doubt be debated, but in my way of thinking he ultimately did a lot for the sport by showing you have to lead with your brains and not your fists...

Spot on brother. Spot on. Floyd's real market value 450 pffft.. And his American.

Fans know he's a fraud now. Good thing he knows he needs to retire before he gets busted with all that IVS laying around his house.

He had his wealth he had a stellar career, he has his wits. Nothing would have taken any of that away from him. In fact he could have quieted every critic out there. A decisive victory with at least 2 rounds of landing some heavy shots would have sealed his place with the legends without debate. Instead he played it super safe and won a decision that proved nothing. We already knew he is the greatest defensive boxer ever. No one can say that Mayweather landed any damaging blows. No one say the crowd was on their feet. No one can say Mayweather had Pacquiao in trouble at any time in the match. In fact no one can say that anything exciting happened in that match. He had a once in a generation moment and he boxed merely to get a safe decision. Meh.

Sugar Ray closed the show as a Welterweight, Hagler did at Middleweight, and Holmes did at Heavyweight, and they were great boxers who always fought to take the man out. They all to this day are intelligent and wealthy. Again I can't disagree with all your accurate points. I'm just adding my 2 cents.
What made boxing great Is the mentality of past greats. Taking the man out. It created excitement and anticipation and nail biting at the edge of your seat fights I will never forget.

Sadly, Floyd never didn't have those. This fraud shouldn't even be talked about among the greats of the game.vagina boxing are for wuzz, greats of the game hunt. Floyd suck. Dragged boxing to what it is now.

The good thing is. Boxing will evolve from Floyd's pussay ways. Lessons will be learned.
