Out of those who don't already have a fight booked the only "deserving" ones would be maybe Ramirez or Medina. I don't know about Nielsen...

Even the Ring rankings are slim pickings. Most are either coming off a fight(Jack,Chudinov), took an L (Groves, Dirrell Brothers), the fight is'nt going to happen(Abraham), or are scheduled to fight. (Callum Smith) Ward did'nt seem interested in fighting him even after Degale said everything short of Ward loving to suck **** through a glory hole.

Really, outside of Ramirez, the pickings are pretty slim for Degale atm. A Jack, Chudinov unification would be nice early next year, but as a first defense, Bute is a good choice.

Gilberto Ramirez had the chance to fight DeGale and Top Rank said he wasn't ready.

Jackson and Uzcategui are fighting each other. Fielding is fighting Smith.

So....Patrick Nielsen or Porky Medina? That's who soul-survivor wants DeGale to fight instead of Bute? Lol...

That's a very good fight as his first defence, no issues with it at all and am hearing it would be in Canada too. Nothing to criticise here.
