Bute looked mentally out of it against Pascal and was looking for ways out of the fight. I think he took the time off to collect his thoughts and recover. He came back and looked very good against that Italian guy. Although he wasn't that highly ranked, but still it was a confidence booster for Bute.

DeGale should win this one but I can see Bute having some moments.

Bute's exerience and power might already be a little too much for DeGeal. Add home turf advantage to it...I don't know what the bookies are thinking, but am bettin there'll be a Bute-Direll fight soon on PBC. What d'you say?

I don't mind this fight. Bute is still a name, with a big punch. I think DeGale UD's him but Lucian definitely has a punchers chance.

The thing about pointing to Bute's lack of confidence is that DeGale just fought another guy with questionable heart/toughness. He put him down hard, hurt him after that, but still allowed him back into the fight. A fighter that a lot of people see as soft got more confident as the fight went along because of how DeGale pulled back.

Don't mean to takeaway from DeGales win in any way - he did come on and win the rounds when he needed to, just saying that even though Bute appears more timid than he was yrs ago, Degale might not want to let that happen so much in this one.

What has Bute actually done in the last 3 years to warrant a title shot? Heck I had to look up the IBF to see if there was anything dodgy and he is only ranked at 11. There are at least 10 better suited opponents. SMH.

Having said that, Bute is still awkward and can make good fighters look bad so if DeGale does his usual thing of not throwing in the middle rounds, Bute will steal those rounds.

DeGale should just go out there and throw non stop for the first 4 rounds, Bute doesn't have the stomach for a fight anymore and he will either get stopped or quit.

The dude should have lost to Librado Andrade except the ref ****ed up. If you lose to Librado or come damn near close, you pretty much earn Bum Status.
