Pretty sure that Roach is responsible for that.

Remember the unprecedented catchweight..... the 3.5mil per-pound-or-part-thereof, that had the media in such a flap way back then.

One site printed a huge article that focused solely on the weight penalty.

If Oscar had missed weight by 2.01 lbs, it would have cost him over 10mil.

Consider that compared to the 600k that Mayweather paid Marquez.

And yet when Roach demanded that Mayweather pay a whopping 10mil per-pound-or-part-thereof, nobody said a thing..... including Mayweather.

The unprecedented 3.5mil per-pound-or-part-thereof, was unheard of at the time, and was a considerable factor heading into that fight.

                145, I think ?

                IIRC he weighed 145-145-145.

145 two weeks before the fight (which tells the whole story).....

                145 at the official weigh-in.....

                145 on fightnight.....

Weighing 145 two weeks before the fight tells the whole story.

I think you are right, but I know he gained 1 pound on fight night, 146lbs, and Pacquiao weighed 142lbs at the scale, 147lbs on fight night. I know Pac had 1 pound on him on FN, and DLH was around there, 145-146.

but, don't you think the very little (by floyd's standard or wealth) 600k was a considerable factor heading into jmm fight?

Oh Freddie was jumping up and down about weight in that fight , there were articles where Freddy was saying Oscar never made 150 against Forbes , he said that they just let him off but if he is not 147 or less with Manny there will be hell to pay , Roach knows how important weight plays I think he is the brains behind Manny and the CWS , I cant see Arum figuring it out , look at Roach now with Cotto its all about weight for this opponent weight for that opponent .

Cant blame Roach though he is playing the game to win .
