  • Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Mayweather's Finale Was a Little Firecracker

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya had a mischievous grin when he was asked for his take on Floyd Mayweather's retirement fight.

Mayweather retired on September 12th after winning a twelve round unanimous decision over Andre Berto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Berto was an enormous underdog in the contest and the Showtime Pay-Per-View only generated around half a million purchases - making it Mayweather's lowest pay-per-view number in almost a decade.

I know Oscar really dont like Floyd but this is just pure salt. Especially considering the way Oscar went out in his last fight.

Oscar ****ed off his last fight, went ****** for a minute, gave the keys to his company to Bob (sure the cold war is over GB doing fights with TR all the time /s) I rather go out on a boring win than the way Oscar going out but thats just me.

Doesn't change the fact that Oscar's statement is correct. It was a lackluster way to end his career. You can attack Oscar and be a Floyd d1ck-sucker all you want..still won't change the fact that it's a true statement...

LOL yeah, he beat them when they were past their prime and avoided the threats people wanted to see in their prime like Manny 5-6 years ago, Margo, Winky Wright, Mosley years before the fight happened, Triple G at 154 now, Sergio at 54', Cotto and Hatton at 40', etc.

But yah you can convince yourself...

Hey, you can also convince yourself he didn't have a low test-to-epi test ratio also on quite a few tests and he wasn't dehydrated at 147 (but too small to fight Triple G at 54') and needed the Lance Armstrong IV-saline...

                    better than being a quitter

and going out sitting on your stool -
addiction is the mark of a weak man
                    Oscar is a weak man
be sorry for the rest of your life that you are one step away from the 'moment of clarity' you are forced to cling too before you again cave to your demons - and of course your love of cross dressing is a bonus and truly honors your family
