A guy who lost to Darren Barker?

Geale was more like a quiz.

Martinez was elite, the question is was he healthy ?

But I agree that Golovkin would likely have beaten that version of Martinez.
Cotto's last fight was against Geale but he needed to drain him down to get an advantage first.

Martinez was not healthy at all. Only Cotto's most insane fans will claim his knees were solid in that fight. Sergio was basically a cripple in that fight.

Sergio probably made the best decision for his own health by ducking Golovkin to go for Cotto instead. If he had fought GGG, he may have died in the ring.

An actual title holder? I'm not sure why that matters more than winning vacant. Especially when Canelo vacates the Green belt to duck GGG.

GGG got his 1st MW title by beating vacant WBA Milton Nunez, and later promoted to WBA Regular Champion.

But he has plenty of defenses, against what were decent fighters.

        Title Defenses

Nilson Julio Tapia via KO in the 3rd round.

        Then Kassim Ouma.

Then GGG fought 2-time world title challenger Lajuan Simon for the vacant IBO Middleweight Title. Simon had never been stopped before, and GGG destroyed him.

GGG defended his titles multiple times now. Each time against fighters that had at one time been considered decent.

They are not Canelo, Cotto, but those two are trying all they can to keep from fighting GGG. Must be a reason.

I actually think Lemieux would not get past Murray, Stevens or Monroe. He is ready made for Gennady, lack of head movement alone and the wide punches is a recipe for disaster for young David. (That and all the crowing how he has looked into GGG's eyes and seen fear, etc)
They will say that. They will hope fighters like MW champ Cotto, or soon to be champ, the bigger Canelo, duck him, and then scream resume.

That's my point, GGG would of made him look even worse. And got no credit. Cotto beat Geale, gets credit.

        But GGG only fights bums?

        What!

You are a liar and a GGG fanboy.

          Milton Nunez?

          Nilson Julio Tapia?

          Vacant WBA title?

Yep, and if you consider his amateur experience, and the fact that he has been in with Kovalev and a number of SMW's, this should not be anything new to Golovkin.

You need more than power against the top guys, the best fighter will probably win, and the better fighter is Golovkin.

              Golovkin tko6'ish.

              Two weeks to go.

Best of luck to both guys.

              WAR Golovkin !

                Doesn't matter to the haters.

Cotto is a MW lineal champion. He has a belt that belongs to GGG. Although he is losing to Canelo, the Winner probably Vacates.

Get over this Ward thing, he is a LHW. Canelo is bigger than GGG, if anyone should be moving up to Ward it is him. Ward walks around at 180, fights at 185-190. He isn't a MW with MW belts.

GGG has ever right to try to unify his division. The coward Cotto has done all he can to stop that by not taking his mandatory.

But I get it, War Cotto is scared. As he should be.

Duck duck goose, Cotto reign as MW pretender (champion is over before it ever really started).

Don't play with MW if you don't want to fight MW.

Why do people just make stuff up?

Yes, he was a big puncher, but it didn't matter.

Lemieux will be the newest tin can everyone says was never good anyways.

Lemeiux is tailor made for GGG. The more he comes forward with his far too wide power shots, the more shots he will eat.

GGG is far too skilled for him, Cotto or Canelo.

The latter two will be cowards and run back to 154.

Canelo drains 20 pounds to fight there, but gets credit. If GGG strictly did the same, he'd get none for it.
I'm going to post Ring Magazines top 10 middleweights.

                Champ: Cotto
                1. little g
                2. Lee
                3. Quillin
                4. Lemieux
                5. Saunders
                6. Jacobs
                7. N'Dam
                8. Geale
                9. Eubank Jr
                10. Soro

Now, out of the 10 other individuals named above, which has little g fought? Only #8... The guy who's lost 3 of his last 5 since 2013.

But, but... He also beat Murray. Big deal. Murray is nothing more than a MW gatekeeper.

Let's get to the facts. Little g called out anyone from 154-168, wanted to fight both the cobra and Jr at 168. But, when called out by the reigning SMW champ, he is only willing to fight at 164. The fact that he ducked that fight tells us all we need to know about him. Any true competitor would be chomping at the bits to fight the p4p #2, and establish himself as the legit heir to Floyd... But not little g, he's rather move to safer pastures.

And don't give me that crap about Ward being a cruiser weight... Wasn't little g trying to get a welterweight Floyd to come up to 154 to fight him? Picking on smaller guys? exactly.

He beat Andy Lee in the amateurs. Does that count?

You are delusional. He beat a guy who's claim to fame is a close fight with an old washed up Martinez, and another who lost 3 of his last 5, and was recently knocked out by a Welterweight... Impressive

Dumb**** alt, Floyd was sitting on SWW belts for 3+ years straight, including lineal. He still hasn't dropped them lol.

Lemieux will be his 7th Ring top 10 opponent in just over 3 years. Some moved up, some dropped out after getting pummeled by the man.
