Are you nationalistic when it comes to boxing?

Nationalism is a natural part of boxing especially. Doesn't mean you can't support/like fighters not hailing from your own backyard.

Getting in the ring with Martin Murray? Wow, much brave.
Sounds like you're a nuthugger, which isn't any better than being nationalistic.
I like golovkin but calling him these things before he's fought anyone of class is silly.

I completely agree with the bold, same way here.
ALSO, let's put it out there, THERE'S A LITTLE MOVEMENT IN THIS FORUM of black posters who hate GGG due to his skin color. LET'S SAY IT LIKE IT IS OKAY.
They can't stand a light skinned fighter being the FACE of the sport, the STRONGEST/MOST DOMINANT fighter in boxing.
Sorry, I just had to say it because it goes with the theme of this thread. Because if a black person here cries RACISM, there is an outrage, actions taken. But when us while folks SCREAM racism, we get ignored and it's like NO BIGGIE.

Reserve it for when he faces someone who is dangerous or bigger than him.
He's been the favourite in every fight.
So tell me again how much of a warrior he is.
Btw i like Golovkin and i find him exciting so please do say im a 'hater'.

I'm Puerto Rican, I like Soccer but we suck at it. So as I watch, I start to like players from all types of nationalities and leagues as well. With that being said, you can't tell me that Brazilians don't root for Brazilians in both international play and when they're on whatever club in whatever country. Same goes with everyone else in the damn world. If you're from q country with big tradition in Boxing, it's ****** to act as if u don't know why fans of that country support them hard.
I am not saying it's wrong to support your nation proudly, but you can support your nation but still support people from other nations as well, soccer/futbol is very different than boxing, I will always support Colombia in the world cup and copa america but that doesn't mean I won't root for Chile if they play Germany or the Korea against the USA, etc.
You can be supportive of your own nation while still remain unbiased when it comes to discussing the sport of boxing. Where I find a problem is, how can you sit there and trash one fighter because they don't fight under the same flag? Supporting a fighter because they represent your country is one thing, but that doesn't mean you have to deny another fighter may be superior, a better fighter, if they fight from elsewhere. Don't you see the difference?
