So people are saying that Beterbiev is not a draw in Canada, well he's even less of a draw in the USA. It makes sense that they're trying to build his fan base in Canada, you know where he resides! Canadian fans get behind their fighters and Artur has the style that should attract fans, they just need to build him up.
Why didn't Main Event bring up Barrera's problem earlier? Haven't they been negotiation since late August and they're barely bringing it up.
So two unknown guys in the US are supposed to headline a fight in the US? It's Artur's fault Barrera can't come in to Canada?
I bet Artur doesn't even give two craps, he's a man of a few words and Haymon is giving him good work.

Unless this fight is in Canada, it is totally pointless. Waiting 6 months for his immigration to schedule an eliminator is just a waste of time for everyone involved. Either set the fight up in Canada or don't do the fight at all.

Why fight in New York when the plan by GYM seems to have been -

November 2015 on Canadian PPV [corresponding US TV carrier; primetime ESPN/Spike TV or Showtime]:

        Degale(c) vs Bute - IBF 168 title
Beterbiev vs {} - IBF 175 title eliminator
Chilemba vs Alvarez - WBC 175 title eliminator

Why would GYM/Beterbiev risk ******** on a market that they don't even regularly run, to make concessions for the IBF's 9th-rated challenger (lets be honest about Barrera's standing in this scenario), when they could simply plug in Edwin Rodriguez into that same spot and not mess up their plan?

As far as Duva trying to win the purse bid - she's not the one robbing a hedge fund for the sole purpose of overpaying fighters in order run legit promoters out of the business.

Duva's going to buy her guy as much time as possible with the purse-bid. If GYM/Haymon insist on going this route only to get Barrera kicked out, then they've wasted Beterbiev's time/career in the process.
          ^^^ lol

Beterbiev fought in Chicago, because it was an opportunity to get him a pretty big spot, as the co-feature, on TV, at a time where there weren't any obvious Canadian shows for him to fight on.

The lengths you go to defend Duva's nonsense is laughable.

.... Hopkins was asking for 75% of the money, knowing that he had a mandatory, that he didn't want to take, due and that near all of the money would be coming in from Canada.

Knowing the amount of money in play, and understanding that Hopkins was over a barrel, you can bet that Haymon wasn't going to just cave to that bull****.

Lucky for him, Kathy Duva was so desperate to get any type of shine that she was more than happy to give up 75% of the money for a title unification fight.

Sorry. Canada makes the most sense for such a big card. More money and attention for the fighters.

beterbum the biggest ducker in boxing history? he has zero fans and yet he already turned down kovalev and barrera and seems to have no intention of fighting stevenson or fonfara even though they are also with haymon. he's the exact way haters inaccurately describe ggg yet now they are defending him.

no ggg actually tried to fight good fighters on his way up but they kept ducking him. beterbum is going out of his way not to fight good fighters just so he can grab a vacant belt and then after he gets a belt he's expecting people to proclaim him as a top fighter. ggg tried to become a top fighter by beating the other top fighters so essentially the exact opposite.
