Good point wmute. I think we should momentarily take away the best ever or Number 1 of all time part and just concentrate on Great. I think if PBF stays around the 140-147 and cleans up Hatton, Margarito, Cotto and Castillo he would be considered a Great Boxer. The All-Time part takes years and retrospect to accurately judge. But I think if he cleans up the welters and possibly a little foray into 154 for Oscar he would be looked back on in 20 years as one of the greatest of our generation.

To be honest he has the skills to be up there but he won't reach that status just because the weak era his in sad but true...for me to call him the best he would've to beat,Trinidad,DLH mosley At their primes when they were unbeaten.Imagine that vs mosley at 135 and at 147 against Tito and DLH at 147.Sad it will never happend.Ask your self honestly is there any top huge draw name at their prime with unbeaten record around FM to fight with.NO...

2007. That is the year when we will see where we put Floyd among the all time greats. I believe if Hatton wins two more fights in impressive fashion then he will be established in the US. If Cotto can step up the competition a bit and beat a top fighter (Castillo) then he should be ready. If all goes right (and this is very wishful thinking, the odds of this happening arent great.) then we're talking about 3 undefeated fighters in the welterweight division in their prime. If Floyd can beat both Cotto and Hatton at that time then he can retire one of the best ever.
