No one will be greater than Robinson even if they actually are. I think everyone pretty much has it in their mind that Robinson is the greatest ever and that no one will be better. With that kind of mindset it's hard for any fighter to be considered the greatest ever.

Will Mayweather be the greatest ever? Maybe or maybe not. He's got the skills already but in my opinion he's still got a ways to go on his record which is already impressive.

I think Mayweather should beat Baldimor too, as well as Hatton and Margorito to prove hes the legit 140-7 pound champs. I think Mayweather still has some good fights ahead and I think he has a chance to distinguish himself as one of the best all time.

        Discuss please.........thanks
There's too many IF's with that theory. IF this, IF that, once he DOES or IF he DOES, then we call speak about it.

Until then, we're all just shooting the ****.

I think Mayweather might retire as a light middleweight or middleweight, and if hes undefeated thats even better, all those fighters in his resume could'nt beat him...Come on if he beats Hatton, Dela Hoya, Margarito, Mosley...he will be considered #1 of all time in my list...and thats only if he beats them bad
I think even Light Middle might be too high but, if I recall in one interview he wanted to be 5 division weight class champ before he was... 30 or something. That remains to be seen but, if he ever thinks about goin to 160 hes crazy. The guys there are too big and im not sure he can beat anyone in the top 5, let alone a world champ. As for him being an all time great, if he beats oscar and hatton hell be there easily. Throw Margarito in there hes somewhere from 1-3. Although say he beats oscar, hatton, margarito AND beats ANY world champion at 154 hell probably be remembered as THE number 1 greatest of all time. Remember hes still young so this is possible but even so its boxing so might not beat any of them. Time will tell I guess.

Hmm, but if Hatton beats Mayweather is he the greatest of all time? Lets not make a double standard. Alot of you guys seem to recognize Hattons skill but dont applaud it.

Beating mayweather is an accomplishment but to be the greatest of all time, you cant look at it like that. Look at the resumes. They speak for themselves. If pbf, beats dlh and margarito. Then say Hatton beats PBF, overall PBF will be ranked higher I still think. Hatton is a good fighter no doubt, but just beating Mayweather and Tzsyu wont make him greatest of all time. Mayweathers resume "while people up until the judah fight have complained" is pretty nice. Also Floyd is now a 4 div champion, Hatton just recently became champ, Hatton will need a ton more big wins, to ever be considered all time higher then floyd, even if he beats him sometime down the road. I dont see that happening but itll make a good fight.

Floyd is going to make it there IMO... I don't know much about Rocky Marciano but his record shows how BIG he was and he is considered one the greatest to enter the sport. I think Floyd in the same page as he is. Everybody would prolly say his opponents are overrated or not in his league after giving them some ass-whoopin' but come to think of it, he is just so damn gifted, not to mention disciplined.

If and when he retires undefeated, he is going to be mentioned alongside Ali, SRR etc. for sure.

You have to overcome adversity as a fighter to be considered an all time great. That's just my opinion.

Adversity in this case...you need to lose a major fight against a major fighter...and then rematch and beat him.
dude but if he is soo good that he beats all the major figthers he faces, that makes him even greater.

mayweather is the best out there hands down. its not who he beats(although a great resume) it is how he beats them. the only close fight was castillo 1. everyone else he made them look like amateurs. he keeps winning the way he is now and taking on every big name out there he should defenitely be one of the greatest of all time. he is already one of, if not the most skilled and complete fighter of all time.
