And Floyd fought guys that weren't at their best but they were closer to their best than most of those names Marciano fought.

That's after the fact that Mayweather's wins outside of those "names" completely eclipse Marciano's.

How many wins does Marciano have over Top 10 opponents? Barely any.
You flowmoles are such an embarrassment to boxing. Floyd is a fraud who shall not even deserve to be mentioned amongst the likes of true greats like the great Rocky Marciano.
Rocky was a 185 pound man who won the Heavyweight championship of the world, while Fraud Jr shameless ducked Manny Pacquiao for 6 years with excuses like "he must leave Arum" and "health comes first!". Fraud fought Manny when Manny had already been KTFO in 6 by Marquez, lost to Bradley, and failed to stop Algieri LMAO!!!! Joe Louis was 66-2 when Rocky KO'ed him, and Louis had never been KTFO brutally before like Pacquiao was!
Rocky also beat Ezzard Charles, another hall of famer who was the 2nd man to beat Joe Louis! Floyd Mayfeather Jr ducked prime Pacquiao, prime Mosley, prime Cotto, Margarito, Paul Williams, and many more!!!! He retired several times to avoid competition like the coward he is!!!!!!!!

And of course Fraud Jr CHEATED WITH IVs in his biggest fight! HE will be remembered in history as a cheat! He does not deserve to clean Rocky Marciano's toilet or lift his shoe!

You flowmoles need to learn some boxing!!!!!!

That is higher than Wlad's rating right now. Boxrec's algorithm severely penalizes changes in weight classes.

For example "The ratings are decreased for moving up to higher weight divisions by the square of the reciprocal ratio of the weights limits of the divisions--and they are increased by the same factor for moving down the divisions."

So Moore's ELO rating was decreased for moving up to heavyweight.

Also consider that Marciano weighed in at 188lb for the fight, Moore weighed in at 188, and had weighed 188 or more in 3 of his previous 5 fights.

Also, consider that 5 years later, Moore still had an ELO of 3200, which is higher than Floyd's peak ELO.
What is ELO and why are you acting like it means something?

Boxrec has Mayweather at #7 all time so what's his ELO?

Marciano is #19 so doesn't that mean that he has more ELO than him?

So doesn't that mean Mayweather>>>Marciano according to your backwards line of thinking?

So what are you even arguing?

Same thing will happen with Mayweather in years to come, you watch.

He will be extremely overrated, especially if certain guys get in the HOF.

They will look at his resume and see undefeated and names such as Oscar, Pacquaio, Cotto, Mosley, Marquez and blow those up.

            Gatti will be a "HOF'er"

            Hernandez will be a "HOF'er"

Hatton will likely be a "HOF'er"

If Canelo goes onto stardom he'll have a win over him when he was undefeated.

Then it will depend if Corrales, Castillo and Judah get in. All possibly could.

            Brace yourself
I've said the same thing, and I'm positive he'd be ranked well in the top 10 by then.

Most people don't know how to rank fighters. They look at Marciano's record and place his opponents into another era and say "Hey they wouldn't do so well!" and then underrate him. Foolishness. You need to rank fighters based on what they accomplished in their own time, that's based mostly on facts, not hypothetical mental ************ by matching him up with fighters from different era's.

              I voted for Mayweather btw.

LOL @ his argument..."Marciano was 185 pounds, he was the heavyweight champion of the world and he had 4 good wins"

I don't know their exact methodology but usually it is two "players" ratings based on wins, draws, losses and then the winner would generally get rewarded with a boost in elo. Not sure how similar boxrec's is to chess elo.

I'm usually with you on things but I don't see any flaws at all with ELO, if anything it's a revolutionary way of ranking and should be taken as seriously as possible.

The numbers on the left are Archie's ELO, the ones on the right are his opponents:

It factors in every single win through the entire tree of an opponents career, to determine what level they are at.

Most true 1v1 sports have an elo based system that determines skill level.

                      Chess for example.

You should learn about the the boxrec rating system, its pretty damn good. http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Bo...gs_Description

You should like it, it has Floyd objectively listed as #7 all time.
Sounds pretty ****** if you ask me.

Doesn't that prove Mayweather>>>Marciano in your eyes?
