EDIT: Voted for Marciano but it's dam close. Right around the level of ATG I'd compare Mayweather to.
    Which wins were "really big?"

Anyone who says Marciano is purely ignorant, a hardcore Floyd hater, or both.

If you look at the skill Floyd fought and Rocky fought, it's not even comparable. Floyd wins by a landslide.

Rocky had, what, 7 title fights? The rest were against journeymen, contenders, and old men (Joe Louis).

Floyd won a world title almost a year into his career and fought nothing but championship level fighters since.

LOL It's unbelievably ignorant. The worst part about it is that they're serious.

Using your logic Larry Holmes win over Muhammad Ali was "really big". Either you have no concept of the time when these fights were made or you're going out of your way to be contrary. Also, none of those fights were bigger than Mayweather's win over Pacquiao.

Joe Louis was right about Pacquiao's age in the May/Pac fight
Don't get me wrong this was not the best Joe Louis by any stretch, but the guy had rode several wins going into this fight - he was not totally washed either.

They really aren't "really big" wins.

In name value they are. That's about it.

Joe Louis retired after that fight.

                    He was done.

I'm pretty much done here. You're comparing Joe Louis at that stage of his career to Manny Pacquiao today? Unreal.
