PBC's fighter entrance reminds me of that of American Ninja Warrior.

All it's missing is manufactured hit sounds to go with the rest of the synthetic feel. Remember when they had those for the Contender?

Yea I think language is in play here too. The US is pussified & there are curse words in maybe 70% of the music guys would be coming in the ring so I can see how this is more hassle than its worth. Personally I wouldn't have a problem cutting out the ring walks entirely like most non-premium channels & non-PPV cards would do.

The pussification of the US is probably why PBC has gotten rid of the ring girls too. As a boxing fan watching fights on TV I don't see that as a big deal though as the ring card girls will be seldom shown anyways. Back when I was watching Tuesday Night Fights with my dog Sean O'Grady I used to be like wtf man show some of these girls, but now today I can see a girl squirting on MFC during a 15min break at work so its not quite as big a deal to miss out on the ring card girls. If I was at the fight it'd definitely feel odd though cuz it seems like such a customary aspect of the between rounds activity at a live event.

Also surprised anyone gives a f#ck about the announcer not being in the ring. Who gives a f#ck about that.

I actually agree with this. I mean the main thing are matchups and the actual fight, but for some reason it really irritates me too.

I can zone out the gay ass ring entrances, but I would prefer if they improved the match making. We don't need Quillin/Zerafa, Lara/Rodriguez, Wilder/Molina, Guerrero/Martinez, Stevenson/Karpency, Russell/TBA - championship caliber fighters should atleast be fighting guys in the top 15 of their division.

              Exactly.

There have been some good fights (Garcia-Peterson, Mares-Santa Cruz) and a few okay ones but overall I'd like to see boxing on these networks instead of trying to get them on HBO or Showtime...Showtime hasn't even had a notable boxing card all year.

they need A LOT of work. the major change is to start making GOOD match-ups. fire haymon, and some of the commentating staff like paulie, and revamp everything with new team/management. right now it's being handled ALL WRONG!!!

Or maybe they an improve their match making. The guy has like 200 fighters in his stable.

Trying to use that as an excuse is total BS.

Haymon wants to control every detail of what is seen. This is why there is only one or two people allowed in the ring with the fighter. He does not allow any titles to be named or belts displayed in the ring because he intends to bring out his own and probably would have done so already if not for the pending court cases.

Aside from the feeble ring entrances that make the fighters look like gay male models, there are no ring girls - another tradition, and not even a ring announcer.

Haymon is trying to erase everything that made boxing the spectacle it was and turning it into a game show. He has done what no one has ever been able to do before... he has made boxing dull and boring.
