True, but with commercials I'd imagine it's hard. AddiX already explained it quite nicely on page 1.
Big ring entrances always create a nice atmosphere and build up, they just don't have that feel on the PBC cards.Comment

lol I must admit the ring entrances are pretty whack it has a generic feel but the actual matches have been good Its weird boxing fans complain about the fights so much... but yeah... im with u on this one.. ring entrances are important to meComment

I'm pro-long interesting ring walks. For TV reasons I imagine its an issue doe.
Ideally I think you'd wanna do some WWE/Klitschko brothers type deal where every notable PBC guys gots their own theme song basically. Again the problem here is "its free doe". The only time we really see ring walks is on HBO, Showtime & PPV where time is abundant. All the other channels boxing pre-PBC would rarely see a ringwalk cuz mfers gotta line up those commercials & you gotta be done by x time.Comment

it also adds a giant "wwe" like stage that removes from the seats, then again most boixng events dont sell out arenas anyway but stillComment

Guess what? Back in the '70s we had ring walks and large entourages entering the ring. It was on network television and there was no problems. There will never be any problems with the rights to music because all the fighters have that already worked out and many of the top fighters have the artist as part of their entourage. Trying to use that as an excuse is total BS.
Haymon wants to control every detail of what is seen. This is why there is only one or two people allowed in the ring with the fighter. He does not allow any titles to be named or belts displayed in the ring because he intends to bring out his own and probably would have done so already if not for the pending court cases.
Aside from the feeble ring entrances that make the fighters look like gay male models, there are no ring girls - another tradition, and not even a ring announcer.
Haymon is trying to erase everything that made boxing the spectacle it was and turning it into a game show. He has done what no one has ever been able to do before... he has made boxing dull and boring.Comment
