    Why are fighters now fighting at a high level later in their careers?

    Tyson at 38-knocked out by Danny Williams

    Leonard-at 35-Beat up by Terry Norris..at 40 stopped by Camacho

    Chavez sr at 38 beat up and stopped by Kosta Tzu

    Ali at 38-beat up and stopped by Holmes

    Wlad is 39 still on top

    Mayweather just went out on top at 38

    Jmm was world class at 40

    Sports nutrition and advances in training I'd say have advanced significantly since those days.

    And PED's lol...

    And look at who those guys lost to...not bad names at all....Tyson shouldn't even count, he spent half his prime behind bars not even boxing at all.

      More pampering throughout career. Safer training methods and equipment, less fights over-all, modern medicine (potentially PEDs), better safety equipment. They also tend to step up their competition much later since maintaining that 0 trumps quality of opponents to the masses.

            Less fights??? Ray Leonard only had 40 fights..Flad has almost 70 floyd has almost 50 Jmm has over 60
