Name another fighter not named Cotto or Klitcho that has sold out the Garden recently. GGG has just broke into that tier of popularity and has only been on HBO for 3 years! How can people not see this rise as different? I'm from Jersey and I'm not familiar with Alabama but the Garden can hold about 20 thousand people. And for a sport that isn't mainstream in this country that's an achievement.
They know this, but they are so fill with hate for GGG that they simply look past that he is getting very popular, for good reason. Who doesn't like it when a guy is knocking out everyone in front of him. It's not GGG's fault that the division is scared, and the one guy chasing him is fighting at 172, 12 pounds more than GGG. Who is also a clincher who would use that extra weight to hold all night.

They know why they want that fight.

Once this is done, he becomes the man at MW and anyone who wants a lucrative title fight will have to face him in the ring.

From there, he has the choice to move up to SMW and take on any of the champions there with no trouble at all. If someone can manage to unify the titles at SMW in the meantime, that would be a massive PPV event. Once GGG unifies the MW titles, he will be able to get any fight he could want.

And what the hell are you bringing Chavez into the discussion for? He is totally irrelevant and holds no title and is not likely to be holding one anytime soon.
Drop the mic and walk away. I'm not needed here. You have this.

PBC is infamous for giving away their tickets for free, giving away boxing tickets if you buy concert tickets, even cold calling people with telemarketers types etc too such an extant that it's hurting the boxing market in some places like Las Vegas because casuals don't want to pay anymore. The vast majority of fans attending most if not all those PBC cards didn't pay. Poor comparison to say the least.

So Ward is gonna wait around a year or two for GGG to decide to fight him? Unless Ward builds his brand up again, there isn't a PPV with GGG, the crusher has bett options all around him.

No PPV money in a Ward fight. And no matter who Ward fights first, GGG or Krusher, he will never fight the other as he will not be able to. Ward will have nothing left after the beating he will take and will never want to take another beating like that again.

I don't think any of those are PPV, but the Froch fight would be pretty dang big.

However, GGG went after those fights before he signed on a PPV, and now he is the mandatory for one of the final two belts he needs to unify the MW division.

The Ward fight does little for GGG, and it's high risk. Ward will hold all night, making it a tough fight, using his extra weight to clinch.

It's really simple why for GGG, that fight isn't attractive while Ward brings nothing in terms of money.

400 seats will be sold on the day of the fight, easy. It's a sold out fight.

Look, Cotto is gonna have to man up if he gets past Canelo, Ward isn't gonna save him.

Or Cotto will vacate, and possibly retire. Good! Because he would get crushed by GGG.

The Chavez Jr. was a PPV fight at the time. It would not be today. The Froch fight would be PPV in Europe as it would happen in the UK. It would have been huge.

Fighting Ward will not even be a draw on regular HBO. It may even do such low numbers as to hurt GGG's brand as a quality draw. That fight is an all around losing proposition no matter what the outcome. He could drop Ward in the first round and it will not matter. Ward has to build up his name and get a couple of titles at SMW before GGG should even consider fighting him. And only after GGG has completed his goal of middleweight unification.

Cotto doesn't get past Canelo. Canelo will come into the ring weighing 174 for that fight. Cotto will be destroyed.
